Greg Lansky has dominated the adult industry in the past few years with his popular web content studios Blacked.com, Tushy.com, and Vixen.com. These unique, arthouse-inspired imprints have taken tried-and-true themes in porn – like gonzo, interracial, and anal – and put a new lens on the way we view such content. Lansky’s consistent vision for all three of his studios maintains an aesthetic of glamour, natural beauty, and elegantly filmed sex scenes that are captivating to viewers. Where once overtly and intentionally raunchy content seemed to prevail, Lansky’s decidedly more subdued and sophisticated look has become the new standard in XXX, as other studios have adapted Lansky’s approach and attempted to recreate some of his success.
Growing up in Paris alongside childhood friend and fellow industry veteran Mike Adriano, Greg Lansky found himself immersed in the adult industry during its most profitable years. Using Lansky’s connections in French TV production, Adriano and Lansky managed to finance and film their first adult movie, Slut Diaries, which they later sold to Digital Sin. Shortly thereafter, Lansky was given a directorial contract for Digital Sin and New Sensations until 2007. After his contract ended, Lansky went on to direct for Reality Kings. Lansky stayed at Reality Kings until 2014, when he decided to focus his career on a burgeoning idea he had for his own web-based content studio, which became Blacked.com.
Of the vision for his brand, Lansky told The Daily Beast, “We’re not for everyone but I don’t want to be for everyone. I don’t want the people in the middle. I want to be for the people on the edges, interested in quality. The masses are very good at ignoring everything today. Tube sites are average content for average people. I wanted to make remarkable content for passionate people. I knew if we did it right and respected our customers, our content would spread.”
And spread it did. After witnessing the overwhelming success of Blacked, Lansky launched anal-themed studio Tushy.com in 2015. That very same year at the AVN Awards, the Tushy title Being Riley took home nine awards – the most for a single movie that year. Ever ambitious, Lansky launched Vixen.com the following year in 2016, touting “beautiful girls in first-time porn videos.” It wasn’t just the fans that appreciated Lansky’s hard work – the industry itself took notice as well. Lansky won Director of the Year at both the 2016 and 2017 AVN Awards show, and was the keynote speaker at the 2017 XBIZ Awards show.
It’s no small feat that Greg Lansky is leading the industry in a time when it’s being hit the hardest by online piracy and tube sites. Pursuing legal action against those who steal his content is a start, but Lansky has multiple ways in which he’s setting himself apart from other studios and content creators. The eye-catching marketing of Blacked, Tushy, and Vixen serves to self-promote when stars wear their flattering matching bra and panty sets on social media. Keeping social media in mind, Lansky also ensures that there are ways fans can share his brand while remaining safe-for-work, by creating non-nude but still-seductive promotional materials for use on adult-unfriendly platforms like Instagram and Facebook. It is this forward-thinking business model of Lansky’s that continues to adhere audiences and industry members alike to his unique and enthralling world of content.
