MissaX.com developed quite by accident in 2011 out of a way to pay college tuition selling used panties and the like. In the years since, it has become a boutique powerhouse studio known for its thought, writing, elaborate psychological scenarios, genuine romance, and fiery passion. MissaX delves deeply into the realm of taboo fantasy in the vein of erotica writers like Anaïs Nin.
Nominated for 9 awards for the upcoming 2019 AVN Awards, including Best Director and Best Boy/Girl Scene, it is clear that MissaX.com’s star is rising. HotMovies had the opportunity to speak with the head of MissaX, MissaX herself, about her studio and the ethos behind her popular content.
“We mainly shoot here in Wisconsin. We live deep in the woods of rural Wisconsin and it’s so peaceful to write and film here.”
MissaX runs the studio alongside her husband. Her movies place a large emphasis on dialogue and story in order to set the stage and deliver an emotional impact that enhances the sex on screen.
“We aim to have 15 minutes of story before the explicit part of our films, and the scripts are more like a play: heavy in dialogue.”
MissaX is truly one of the tortured artists of the adult industry, and she puts in a tremendous effort in writing her scenes.
“Writing is a nasty business. It can feel self-deprecating sitting and willing your brain to throw something out. There are days I will spend a full work day and all I get is a sentence! I think I am happiest when I can create something that is worthy of my actor’s ability.”
To that end, MissaX takes special care and pride in their stable of actors.
“We look for actors who the customers recommend, and from that list we look to who seems to enjoy acting and have a talent for it. We’re very picky about who we hire because the work requires someone who truly wants to give all her love to the acting. It’s special to find an actor that we like, the customers like, and we are so grateful to have found several actors who regularly come back and work with us. Our websites are like playhouses; you will see your favorite actor play several different roles.”
As anyone knows, though, story and acting are only part of the equation for a hot movie. Since 2017, MissaX has tried pairing their actors with the actor’s friends.
“I love to do this whenever possible because the actors are happiest when they can work with their friends… the sex is more natural and, oftentimes, more adventurous when everyone is comfortable.”
The defining characteristic of the studio can best be summed up by their catchphrase, “I’m gonna give you all my love.” MissaX uses that as a guiding light and creed to put forth the best product possible.
“The actors and I are in the same boat; we’re working for our boss, the customer, who is paying us to entertain. I think the most generous and beautiful promise you can give to your boss is ‘to give all of your love.’ The actors introduce themselves and promise to give their all to the customers, and hopefully the customer sees my love behind the slogan as well. Thank you is not enough, we’re going to give you our all, and that’s a promise.”
