Just in case you haven’t noticed, there are a lot of adult movies that come out in a year. Girlfriends Films alone put out over 80 titles in 2018, and that is on the light side for some studios. We never look a gift horse in the mouth, and always appreciate watching performers put their bodies and talents on display for our viewing pleasure. Paraphrasing (heavily) the Mitch Hedburg joke, even a ‘broken’ porn is still naked people having sex with each other or themselves. But that doesn’t mean that some films don’t stand out.
HotMovies fans definitely have their own unique taste. As such, certain studios are more popular than others on our site, and there are movies from those studios that have risen to the top over the last year. So as we still are working out writing “2019” on our checks and paperwork, let’s take a look back at the most-watched movies from some of our top studios of 2018.
Girlsway – Freudian Homework
Relatively speaking, Girlsway is still a pretty new studio in the adult world, but that hasn’t stopped them from consistently releasing scalding-hot content on the regular and shooting toward the top of the studios on HotMovies. Freudian Homework was the best-performing Girlsway title on the site in 2018, and it’s easy to see why! The film presents us with several scintillating scenes of stepmother on stepdaughter action with sexy scenarios for each. For our money, the scene to watch is when the jaw-dropping Anna DeVille figures out she’s been texting her stepmom (Alana Cruise) on a lesbian hookup site, and, mid-dirty talk session, barges into her mom’s room for a confrontation. Also, don’t sleep on the scene in which busty Mindi Mink is caught by stepdaughter Carmen Caliente masturbating in the bath.
Girlfriends Films – Twisted Passions 23
No top studio list would be complete without us including something from Girlfriends Films, a standard-bearer for quality lesbian erotica for years and years. Twisted Passions 23 continues a storyline called The Thornhill Diaries (this is Chapter 39) and is a direct sequel to Twisted Passions 21, with the second episode of the “So Wrong” plot. While the soap opera dynamic is awesome and engrossing, you needn’t fear just jumping into this title; everything becomes clear as you watch it, and follows Reagan Foxx’s sexual escapades. Of course, Reagan’s daughter, Violet Starr, has a smoking-hot scene with Karlee Grey at the end of the video that should not be missed.
Crave Media – Shop Lyfter
Taboo doesn’t just mean stepmothers and stepdaughters. Another top title from 2018 was a little taboo number by Crave Media called Shop Lyfter. The video is a series of scenes that work on a power play of young women caught shoplifting, who fuck their way out of getting in real trouble. The security officers, while blurred out of the scene for a little extra authenticity, are A-level male performers. The tenseness and desperation of these scenes is palpable, and it makes the power dynamic even more sexy. While not for everyone, getting consenting adults and capable actors to act out what might otherwise be a horrific scenario is incredibly erotically charged. Zoe Parker especially inhabits the role, and should probably have won an award for her believable performance with Marcus London.
Twistys – Mom Knows Best 5
Noticing a theme here? We are back to mother-daughter scenes with this Twistys gem. Unlike with the Girlsway and Girlfriends titles, Mom Knows Best 5 gives us wildly different scenarios with very different settings. From meditating, to learning guitar, to baking a cake: no set-up is too de-sexualized to be used as a way of two women having at it. But the funniest scene (which is still super hot) belongs to Alexis Fawx and Angel Smalls as they play teacher and elf at the North Pole in an elf education classroom. We love that Alexis told Angel to put away her phone because “elfies” are not allowed in class. Blacked.com – Black & White Vol. 10
Blacked.com doesn’t have a ton of movies on our site just yet, but wow! You can pick any of their titles and get amazing quality interracial content. Black & White Vol. 10, the best-performing of their titles for 2018, is a great example of the awesome footage the folks at Blacked get on camera. In fact, this series won the 2018 AVN Award for Best Interracial Series. The scene that steals the show is a rebound encounter between hot Spaniard Moka Mora and Mandingo… where Mandingo’s beautiful assistant, Kira Noir, warms Moka up with some boner-inducing cunnilingus. Marc Dorcel – The Prisoner
This is our first and only foreign entry on this list. If you haven’t seen a Dorcel film, get ready! The hottest women from the other side of the pond (there is a French girl, an Italian, and a Czech in this movie) are directed magnificently by Frank Vicomte. Again the power play is a theme here… as we watch sexy prison guards sample the goods of the bad guys and girls that are locked up. Trust us when we say you’ll never see a steamier strip-search than Cassie Del Isla performs on Gallic vixen Clea Gaulthier, before fellow guard Kristof Cale gets in on the action.
Team Skeet – Step Sibling Coercion 5
The only thing hotter than step-siblings fucking is when the balance of power also becomes a factor. In Step Sibling Coercion 5, these sisters get talked into giving in to their carnal desires with their stepbrothers under dire circumstances. The last scene is especially interesting, as Bella Rose is live-streaming going through her brother’s messy closet, calling him out on his wardrobe while trying the clothes on. Pure Taboo – A Mother’s Choice
Clearly, 2018 was a huge year for taboo. Bree Mills and Craven Moorehead, the directors of A Mother’s Choice, are among the best in the genre. In fact, the movie was nominated for two AVN Awards this year: Best Actress in a Featurette and Best Older Woman/Younger Girl Movie. While she didn’t wind up winning, it is clear why India Summer was nominated for her scene.
