Luna Rival is one of the fastest-rising stars in the world of adult. The French beauty got started in 2015 working for Canal+. She is noted for her cute teen appearance, natural body, well-manicured bush, and her appetite for anal (as you can see firsthand in her double-anal scene in Swinging Couples).
I met with her in an undisclosed location in sunny Chatsworth, California. Chatsworth is known as the heart of Porn Valley. We sat down for an interview under a gazebo smoking cigarettes and California “cigarettes” just before going to the XRCO Awards for the evening (you can read about the Awards night here). I’m sure after reading this interview that you’ll be just as smitten with her as all of us at HotMovies are.

So you said in another interview that you took the name Rival because your boyfriend said you had no rival in bed.
Yes, and I have chose Luna for the moon. I live more for the night than the day, so… I chose Luna because I love a first name that starts with “L.”
It’s a beautiful name.
At first I chose Luna Loup, which would mean “Moon Wolf” in English. I had a producer tell me it’s a little too much teen-y. And yeah, so my boyfriend chose “Rival.”
How long did you film with “Luna Loup” as your name?
I have done only one or two videos with “Luna Loup” on… two days.
Oh, okay.
Yeah. Is very, very fast.
So you’ve been out here [in Los Angeles] for how long?
Two week or three weeks here and I go back on the 29th of July.
Oh, okay. And what companies are you filming with while you’re here?
I worked with Intersec and… I worked for… I don’t remember. I shot a handjob. I shot again for Kelly Madison and other people. And I do a lot of content for Onlyfans and ManyVids.
Are you finding a lot of success with those content sites?
Yes. More in America, for I have a lot of fans. But I do more content in America than Europe because not a lot of people do content.
Interesting. What other ways is European porn different from American porn?
There’s a lot of things different. For example, in France, agencies or agents are illegal. You risk five years jail and I don’t know how much for paid [fines], but is very expensive. In Eastern Europe: Prague, or rest of Czech Republic, or Hungary it’s legal there. But in the whole of Europe it’s [all] different. Just like the U.S. states. And it’s more difficult to work in Europe than in America. In America you have associations, you have lawyers, you have a lot of things to help actors or performers. It’s very different in Europe. We want to try the same for safety or for health.
Oh, okay.
From the time you start in France, never people help you. You just go in the production, but you don’t know if it’s a good production or not. You are obligate to see directly what is good or is not good. You have nothing experience with other girls before you’re starting. For that I want to change for here. It’s possible to start with an agency, and just starting with an agency it’s possible to shoot for all productions. In Europe you rep yourself.
I’ve noticed in America a lot more actresses are beginning to represent themselves and book themselves. Do you see that as a good thing or…
It’s a good thing for them to have the choice. It’s possible to go with agency or without agency. After I talk with one or two girl different, they told me they start with agency and after they have I-don’t-remember-how-much time, they have all the numbers for the productions and all the names and all that they put out from the agency.
Okay. Changing subjects… In doing my research I saw a lot of you with Mickey Mouse. Mickey Mouse shirts, and such. Do you love Disney?
Not only Disney; I love all things cute. Anime [animation]. I have the book of the Triangle on a t-shirt [we’re going to assume she means Mac Bennet’s Triangle]. I have with Marie from Aristocats. Unicorns… lots. I have a lot of unicorns, too. So I just love all with cute anime.
What’s your favorite animated film?
I don’t have a favorite. They’re just always different. And different what I feel is favorite. Yeah. Is different.
Okay. I was looking at your Instagram. And it’s all just pictures of you… which is great, because everybody wants to see you. But I also noticed one photo of Natalie Portman in Luc Besson’s Leon: The Professional. Do you feel some sort of a kinship or familiarity with the character or the movie?
Not a lot for the character, but I love the movie. For me it’s just an amazing movie. And he learning you a little bit of the other life and he learn you a lot of what you do in a life and what you don’t do. Just for that for me, it’s an amazing movie and he’s one of my favorite. My favorite movies are Matilda and Orange Mechanique [A Clockwork Orange]. Is totally different, but is my favorite.
Yeah. It’s a little… twisted.
Yeah. But I love. Is just amazing.
What other favorites do you have?
I love comic [comedy] movies. Very Bad Trip [that’s the French name for The Hangover]. Is different title in France. Umm… Beerfest. Beerfest is just amazing, and to joke on the whole movie. And after I love animation movies. I love Miyazaki. He do very good movies. My favorite is Howl’s Moving Castle. Is my favorite to Miyazaki.
You were saying in other interviews that you love horses. Do you ride horses as a hobby?
Yes. It’s a hobby if it’s possible I have time. And I’m doing seven years horsing. Yeah. In middle of my 7 and 14 years [old]. So yeah, if possible I do more, I do more.
Very cool. Well, you’re staying here in Chatsworth, which is the Capital of Porn, but also a big horse community. Do you ever ride horses when you’re out here?
No. For I really don’t [she means didn’t] know is riding in this place. I don’t know so you just…
[laughs] Now you know.
Now I know and I probably see for this time!
Perfect. Now I want to go back to the beginning of your career. How did you get started in porn?
For on the time I start I don’t have confidence in me and I dislike me. And I do picture with my boyfriend. He take a picture to me, but with not my face. We play with the light. And is very beautiful picture, and I love it. And on this time, I have seen a lot of porn so… I have start watching porn I am 11 years old.
Oh wow.
[giggles] Yeah. And for me… porn is not for me. I am not good for that. I am too bad, and that thing. We try a picture with my boyfriend, and after that I am love it. I thought, “Oh. I want try a solo shoot.” And I try a solo photoshoot and solo video, and I just love it. I do other solo, and after that… so I am born in France and am starting in France and so I want a career. I don’t just want have doing three or four videos solo for just that. No. I really have love it, and I want a career for I see as possible do [meaning as long as she can]. That is for me impossible, because I am ‘not good for that.’ So I see I possible and in France if you want career you obligate do boy-girl and I love anal before the porn. For that, my first scene with boy, is four boys on DP. And on one day I have do two scenes… one with four guys and one with three guys, and they both on DP.
Oh wow. That’s a fun way to start.
[giggles] Is really a fun way to start. I don’t want do boy-girl and my first is DP.Was that a good experience?
Yeah! I stressed a lot. But is good experience. And after that I do… I have work for John B. Root, is big director in France. A famous director in France. And is very speed [fast] on my career for on one month I have work for Canal+, is French channel of TV, for porn movie. And two months I have worked for Dorcel.
And in four months. No. Six months. I have work for Legal Porno in Prague. And I have done my first double anal.
Okay, wow.
[giggles] Yes. So I doing very speed [fast].And it hasn’t slowed down since. You’re just more and more popular!
Yeah. It’s just more. And I have lot of people talk me, “Oh. She’s probably done second years or first years.” But in September is four years I’m here in the business. And I don’t stop. All the time is more, more, more, more. And I work more, and I have more fans, and it’s just amazing for me!
Uh huh.
More in the first year I really don’t realize what I’m doing and how much fun I have. And now I realize I have a good career and lot of fans. And I just a simple woman, simple human, classic people. And yeah, so I’m not big star in my head. No. We’re all same. All people die one day, so…
That’s true. But what about your self-confidence? Have you noticed it getting better as time has gone on?
I’m more, more, more better. And now I have confidence in me. I like me a lot. And at the time I’m starting porn, I’m agoraphobic, so I don’t go out. I go out maximum 500 meter [that’s 0.3 miles, or just a couple blocks] to my home.
Wow, okay.
Now I’m here in USA. And I’m not scared. I don’t have anger or cries or nothing. I’m very good now in my life.
That’s good!
Yeah!
Now, you flew in to San Francisco, and you told me before the interview that you took a bus across the state from San Francisco to Los Angeles? Do you want to tell me a little bit about your trip?
Yeah. It was really scary in San Francisco from the time I arrived in the airport for to go to the hotel. In the Uber, probably two miles to the hotel with my boyfriend, we look on the left and we see on the street two people doing shoot on the arm [intravenous drugs]. And we’re like, “What?! What’s that?!” And we continue, and after on the ride we saw prostitutes in a tent, and a lot of that thing. I am so scared to San Francisco, but after is so beautiful. I love the painting, and the style. But is beautiful city… but the part I see I have disliked the people.
That makes sense. Was it the Tenderloin District?
Ummm. I don’t remember exactly where is it.
That’s okay. So we were talking about your mainstream film. And you’re trying to do a little bit of both [mainstream and adult]. I noticed doing research that you did a zombie movie, Outbreak Of The Dead. What is the story with that? Is that coming out anytime soon?
No. We have do only the trailer for he don’t have the money. What he want, he try Hulu or that kind of thing. He tried to put the trailer for he can get the money to make the movie, and he never get the money. So we have only do the trailer.
So do you have any other mainstream projects that you’re working on?
Yeah. Umm… now I work in mainstream project but I impossible talk a lot about for we shoot this time. And is in L.A. So is very cool and amazing, and I do another mainstream movie that go out in mainstream cinema next year in France.
Very cool! What kind of a movie is it?
In France it’s a comedy, a really French comedy. And here is more sci-fi, for open the brain and sci-fi.
Very nice! Have you noticed your work with Canal+ helps with the mainstream exposure?
A little bit. For I work for them again but not a lot in porn… for show is in the middle [it doesn’t lean heavily on nudity]. And they’ve done two seasons, and I’m here in both seasons, and now they stopped. But they start another mission [project], and they want me. And that is very nice. I’m friends with the people who make it and it’s very, very good for me. They like me, and for that they want to give me a place.
Earlier today you said you shot with Tommy Pistol? [sees that Luna is shaking her head no] Oh, did that not happen?
No. Is cancelled for we do not have time. Him and me same, for I am doing Saturday going Portland and I come back Tuesday on night. And I have shoot yesterday. Tonight is the XRCO. So we prefer do it another week, and for I stay more longer, and we have more time.
That makes sense. But you’ve worked with him before, right? For Kink?
Yes, exactly. I work with him for Kink and is just after the AVN last February, and is just amazing for I see him before on the podium. And for me is just amazing to meet him and work with him. And he’s very social and is possible to talk with him. He’s very simple, he doesn’t have a big head. He stays simple. And that is just amazing for he is very famous actor in America. He stay normal!
What is it that you do to stay normal? You have such popularity. You’re a big name. How do you stay humble?
Probably because I come from very little city. A little village in Campagne. For me that is important; I personally dislike a lot of luxury. I love what’s natural. For example, I dislike being in the city with lots going on. No. It’s not for me. I prefer peace, and very cold. For me what help me all the time is my boyfriend. He help me stay classic. And my dogs! I have two dogs and for me they’re same to my children. And with them I’m just classic. They just love me and I love them. And that what makes life same for all; same for respect. For that… yeah, I have a big name, but I don’t realize I have big name totally yet. And on the other side, I like my life just classic and don’t brain fuck. I’m not totally princess. I’m not, “Oh! I want a Louis Vitton bag or luxury clothes.” No. Is not my style. I prefer making a present for my family or for my friends. On the other side [as opposed to] buy a very expensive present for me. Or for my dog! [laughs]
[laughs] Have you been with your same boyfriend for the whole time you’ve been filming?
Yes. Is five years now.
Do I hear wedding bells?
We promise, but we are never doing for we don’t have time. All the time we promise but we have obligation for other thing. For I have work or he work. So yeah, we doing on 6th of the month on next years. Yeah. We want to do it.
Very cool. He sounds very supportive.
Yes! He’s very supportive and he help me a little bit for letters or for I don’t do escort. And I have lot of proposition for escort, and he manage that… all the propositions. [laughs] Yeah. He very help me for that.
Where is it that you get the most unwanted attention that way? Is it Twitter with all your propositions or…
I have put my email on my Twitter profile, so is possible all people send me email. I don’t have a lot on Twitter for the message you directly, is not possible. But I have a lot of email.
I guess that’s a side effect of the business. Everybody assumes.
Is not big problem. Just I don’t do [it]. And yeah, I know a lot of girls doing, so I understand a lot of people comfortable with both. And put both in the same way.
Right. Just not for you.
Not for me. [laughs]
How is it that you deal with negative attention on Twitter?
I don’t have a lot. My fanbase is very much community; we are solidarity. So the time I have a bad thing on Twitter I don’t most time, and my fans help on Twitter. So I don’t have any problems with haters or that because I have really, really good fans. And I love my fans. Now I have fans starting to know me when I’m starting my career, and is now my friend. I have five or six men now is my friend, is not only fan.
Oh. Very cool.
Yeah. Is very beautiful people.
And do they come to see you at conventions?
Yeah. They come see me in conventions or… the fan I very know and I talk with a long time, I meet him. So I meet fan in having a coffee or I have a very very good fan he live close to Paris and the whole time we go to Paris with me and my boyfriend, we stay in his house. Now we are really friends with these fans.
That’s really nice. Do you get recognized a lot?
No.
Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
Is a good thing for me. And I don’t have same style on my video and on my classic life. On my classic life for example in Europe and I take a flight or I take a train I don’t put makeup first. And the whole time I’m here for shooting, there’s a large pool [population], and people don’t recognize me. Or they recognize me, and don’t come talk with me. Is only three time, and is two girls, and only one boy, that people recognize me and come talk with me.
And that was fine?
Yeah! Is very good people. And I have one girl I have talk with her before on Twitter a little bit, and she recognize me in train station. And we have talk, and smoke a cigarette together, and yeah! Is very great. And the first first is really big fan for I first starting… is only three months after I starting. And I was with my boyfriend, and we go in a friend’s apartment, for a party. And what is so funny is we go on the street and the man stop us and said, “I don’t want bring you cigarettes.” Is what he talk on the first, and first he talk to my boyfriend. No, he talk to me first. “Oh! I recognized you on the movie!” And then he direct talk to my boyfriend, “Is possible kiss her just on the side?” For we are French and we do a bis [kiss on the cheek for greeting]. We don’t do a hug. And is for that, he asks, “It possible I do that for your girlfriend?” And he talk [her boyfriend], “Yeah. If she want. Yeah, is no problem.” And I tell him, “Is no problem.” And we have talk five minutes, and yeah. I don’t have bad thing with fan.
That’s lucky.
I have one bad thing with a fan, but he never come talk with me. [laughs]
Okay, one scary thing.
Yeah. One scary fan. I go walk with my dogs and boyfriend in the park and two weeks after I go on the radio and the fan calls on the radio and said, “I have seen you and have walked on your back for the whole time you walk with your dogs.” And I have never been back in this park.
No. I wouldn’t either. That’s terrifying.
Yeah. I never go again to this park.
Do you do anything as far as charity goes? Anything to help or is there a cause that you believe in more than the others? I know when you did the HotMovies Pornament in March you were going to donate some of your winnings to a charity. What are your favorite charities?
Is animals. [giggles] For me the animals… is impossible they talk, is impossible they work, is impossible they make newspaper or make video. So yeah, for me animals is first.
All animals? Mostly dogs?
Most animals. I prefer dogs. After same I do for cats. I don’t have for my home, because I don’t have bigger home. I have two dogs.
Big dogs or little dogs?
Middle. Medium dogs. The first dog, is in kilo not LB [pounds], the first do 20 kilos [44 pounds]. The second 15 [33 pounds]. So is medium dogs.
Yeah.
Yeah. After… I love all animals. All rodents, so I love rats. I love hamsters, I love squirrels. I love horses, donkeys, monkeys. I just dislike, I don’t like insects…
[laughs] Okay, I was going to ask.
And phobic to spiders.
So nothing creepy. Nothing crawly.
But after I scared to snakes. But lizards, and more bigger to the lizards… I cannot remember, that I like.
Have you done any outdoor filming here in Chatsworth? Because there’s a lot of rattlesnakes here.
I have never seen. [laughs] I have seen a lot of squirrels. But not snakes. For here I have seen a spider. A big spider. The black widow, I have seen one black widow. And I am just totally scary. But I don’t see snake and I’m happy. [giggles]
That’s good. So what’s the scariest thing that’s happened to you while filming? Do you have any scary stories from filming? Or funny?
[giggles] More funny in France. For they have the most dialogue, so stupid. Is just really fun. Before I come I shoot with Jordi. He is famous in Europe. He work for Mofos and Brazzers. And we have shoot for Mofos. And is so funny, for in the story I’m a big big fan and I want for him come autograph. I want him come for autograph. I run back to him and he finish and he go back to little street. And I push him on the… I don’t know the name to…Oh. Like a wall?
Yeah! On a wall. I try kiss him and he go [does a silly voice], “No! No! No!” And I tell him, “I want your cum!” and “I want fuck you!” And on the story it is, “Okay, but I shoot the video.” [giggles] And just that is so fun for everyone. And this time I have the camera for run. And is really fun to run with the camera and cry, “Hey! Hey! I want your cum!” in the street. [laughs]
That’s funny.
In a street with real people around. And you cry, “I want your cum!” And just that is so funny. The most funny stories are on the street. For I do a Public Disgrace in Spain with Steve Holmes. I do two. One in Barcelona, and one in Madrid… and both are so funny. And there are a lot of lot of cops around. Cops doing horsing, with the guns… And starting I have a big, uh, piece on my neck. I have my hands same with my neck…
Oh, okay. Like locked to your neck? Like a collar?
Yeah. I have a collar. And they put my hand to the collar. And put big sex toys. And I have a dress is open to the side, and on the front and on the back. And I try on that. And he [Holmes] starting open on the side. And there are all cops on around the place. And is just amazing for the all cops watch me, and watch good. But never moved. Nothing moved. That makes sense. So who is it that you haven’t worked with so far, as far as another performer, that you would love to film a scene with?
James Deen. I know he have a lot of bad story on him, but is really my dream work with him. And I have seen a lot of scenes for him, and I love BDSM. So is my dream work with James Deen. And I have know he have work again. So I have a possibility now. Before have stopped, but he is working again.
James Deen, if you’re reading this, she wants to film with you! [laughs] Now with the BDSM, are you a total submissive or do you switch?
No. I am switch. It depends the people I have in front of me. So if the people is more dominant, I’m more submissive. If they are more submissive, I’m more dominant.
