HotMovies Interviews 'Strap On Sinner,' Sinn Sage

Sinn Sage has never really been one to fit the porno mold. She’s refused to just stick to what’s “marketable” and it’s paid off with a long career that’s spanned most of porn’s tumultuous new millenium, on her own terms. Now in 2019, Sinn has teamed up with queer-porn icon Courtney Trouble to release her own films under her own studio, Sinn Sage Studios. I sat down with Sinn to discuss life, the industry, her favorite harness, and her new movie, Strap On Sinners.

Strap On Sinners from TROUBLE Films

Congrats on starting up your own studio! How has the response from your fans been?

My fans are incredible people; they are so loyal and they’re really just voracious. They just love watching me do what I do, and I think for them to finally be seeing stuff come out from me from my studios, I think they’re just stoked to see more. So it’s been pretty great so far.

What do you want our readers to know about Strap On Sinners?

Well, it’s just four scenes that myself and my husband produced and directed, featuring me doing what it is that I do best and what I love doing. And so in that respect, I think that it’s something that not just my fans are going to love, but also anyone who is a fan of seeing girls really use the strap-on the way that it’s meant to be used.

What goes into preparing for a strap-on scene?

Just having my partner choose which dick she wants me to put on out of what we’ve got available. And then after that, I mean, not much more, definitely no different than any other scene really. I have my strap-on that I like using which is a SpareParts harness. And that’s my favorite harness, that’s what I always try to use if I can. I’ll bring it myself to set even if I’m hired to be in a shoot. I will bring my strap-on to set.

And so, yeah, and then it’s just like any other scene, really.

What is it that you like about the SpareParts harness?

It is incredibly comfortable… It’s not made of shitty leather or weird materials, it’s a really nice stretchy cloth. And then the way you put it on, the waistband is a nice thick band so it doesn’t cut into your flesh a lot, which some harnesses can do, and it’s very unflattering. So SpareParts was really made with all that in mind. And then it’s very easy to take on and off because the waistband has velcro, so you just pull it off and it’s very simple to adjust. And then it just holds the dong very close to your body, exactly how you need it to be close. And yeah, it’s just really the best.

Yeah, I love them; they don’t sponsor me. I think they should. I get asked all the time in emails them, “What’s the strap on that you use?” And I always tell them to go buy SpareParts.

Sinn Sage & Cadence Lux in Strap On Sinners

Yeah, you’re pretty widely regarded as one of the best strap-on tops ever… Do you have any particular technique that you use when you’re fucking someone?

I’m just very in touch with that side of myself, what would be seen as a little bit more masculine side. And I’m happy with it, I’m happy to embrace it. I just feel like when I do put the dick on, when I touch it, I grab it, and I hold it and I just feel like I’m having a mental connection with it. I feel it physically in that sense, and then I just wanna make the girl feel as much pleasure as possible.

I just feel like when I’m fucking with my strap-on I’m very much in a super giving mindset, and I just wanna… fuck this girl, I just wanna make her feel good… And so in that sense, I just feel a connection to it, and I think… I’m not gonna say this for everyone, but I do think that sometimes a lot of girls just feel very, very feminine, and they identify almost entirely with their feminine side and their femininity. I think sometimes for those type of girls, a producer just hands them the strap-on and says, “Here, fuck her with this,” and she just can’t really… It makes them feel uncomfortable, and they’re not connected in the same way. And that’s totally fine, they’re great at other things, you know what I mean? I feel like women who are the best with strap-ons have that connection to their masculine side, and are not afraid to express it and just feel it. Hopefully that makes sense.

It totally does. And you can kinda see that on film. You fuck with a strap-on like you were born to… not born to have a dick, but…

Yeah, yeah, and that’s one thing I do feel that. I will say I identify as cisgender, but in some ways, especially when I put on a dick and I’m with other women, I really feel that sort of fluidity, that gender fluidity. Sometimes I feel like I’m a little bit more gender fluid, especially when it comes to the actual sex and especially when it comes to having a strap-on.

Do you ever get any pleasure physically from the strap-on?

I’m not feeling the dick bouncing against my clit enough to where I’m having an orgasm or getting that sort of direct physical stimulation, but for me so much of the pleasure that I’m getting is all mental.

I do feel like when my dick is in the girl’s mouth or she’s stroking it, it’s like I feel it, but in my mind. It’s hard to describe that in a way, especially for people who don’t connect with it mentally… I do feel it, and I have just like…. mind orgasms. [laughs]

It’s not physical manifestations of orgasms. They’re just all mental.

Yeah… okay, that’s hot.

Yeah!

You have a really gorgeous cast in this movie. How do you choose who you perform with?

We pretty much based everything off of who’s available for content trades and custom videos. These scenes originated as customs, so they were financed by fans of mine.

I was traveling around the country at the time in my van, so I was able to just find models in certain areas, and I put them up as available for customs and then fans would order directly from me, and then I’d create the scenes that that they were asking for. So when I was with Bianca [Stone], she’s on the East Coast, and we were traveling out there, and I was able to get a couple of customs from her. I’m so glad because, oh my gosh, she’s so sexy! The way her voice is really raspy and stuff… I was just like, “Oh yes!” That’s my favorite scene in the movie. I think just because I love that scenario, ’cause I did get to do a little bit of gender bending, and I always really love doing that.

Sinn Sage & Cadence Lux in Strap On Sinners

And that scene with Cadence [Lux] was my first time ever working with her and I was just like, “Yeah, this is what I wanted.” She was passionate, was just into it, and very connected with me.

If I do get to the hand pick the performer that I want to make movies with it, it would always be people who I know have that ability to connect on camera during a scene, and just are really passionate, and really love what they do, and love being with another woman—as I do. That would be how I would hand pick them. We’re just a very small studio. We don’t have a lot of financial backing by any means, so we just shoot a lot of content trade, so we find models that are available, or passing through, and then we’re just like… Do you wanna shoot some scenes? And yeah, we’ll just do that.

So you’re working with your husband Drake, what is his involvement in the business? Is he holding the camera, or getting you a glass of water, or…?

We make a really amazing team, and I’m so grateful to have him here. It would be pretty much impossible for me to pull all this off on my own. So Drake is the camera person, and he’s kind of amazing at it. Basically, I trained him ’cause I needed him to start shooting customs from me back in maybe 2012, and he just took what I showed him and then just evolved. He really took it to the next level. And he’s way better than I ever was at this point now. It was the same thing, with editing, I was like “Here, here’s how you edit a video.” And that’s his job, too, is editing things, and then he’ll sit at the computer for hours just learning something new. If he needs to do something in editing, he will just sit there and learn it. He’ll find videos to watch, he’ll just teach himself how to do it, and now he can do so much stuff on there that I could never do, so he’s just great like that. He does the camera, he does editing, he does lighting. And he is a jack of all trades, he builds things as well. I have several sets and things like that, that he has just built from scratch with his hands. He really rounds out the company in a way that makes it work for us.

He sounds like a keeper!

He’s amazing, we’re super in love with each other.

Yeah, I remember you guys did a threesome scene with Jodi West, about two years ago. Do you think you’ll do something like that again?

That was a while ago, yeah. And yes, we actually have a movie that I’m putting together right now to be released. I think you guys will have it by the end of this month; it’s a group-sex movie. He and I are in three out of the four scenes, so it’s gonna be me and Drake and Riley Reyes, and then me and Drake and Karla Lane.

And then we did a three a threesome blowjob scene with Kelly Shaw, who’s a trans model that was out here in Vegas. And then the third scene is basically three girls: me, and Goddess Kyaa, and her wifey-poo River Enza. And so that whole movie is gonna be threesomes. When he and I get to enjoy another woman together, it’s pretty much like the best days of my life. I don’t know if you guys have this one yet, but Courtney Trouble and I had a scene where [Drake] and I double-penetrated her pussy, and that was also an incredible… The scene was just outrageously awesome. There’s squirting, and his dick and my strap-on were in her pussy… Oh, God it was great.

So speaking of Courtney, a lot of her movies are very political sometimes. Do you think you’re going to be doing movies with a bit of a political slant as well, or are you gonna stay away from that?

So that concept is not something that I have any problem with. I’m definitely not averse to that, but I’m also, I’m not purposely trying to inject that into the things that I make, so I feel like the furthest that I’d go politically is just saying that to me, trans women are women, and I love being with women.

And so I’m gonna include in my movies trans women as women. I’m not gonna be like, “Oh this is like a trans movie, or a scene, or whatever.” I’m just like, “No this is my movie, this is my lesbian movie, my threesome movie. And you’re gonna see a girl in this, maybe she has a lady dick. That’s as far as I think I will go. Politics is like, I’m just kind of making pretty standard sex scenes and doing it the way I always have done it, which is just with the passion, and the acceptance, and the inclusion. Just making stuff that’s hot and inclusive. To me that is kind of political, and maybe a little radical, but that’s a shift and a change that I’d like to see rather than fetishizing a person for who they are.

Yeah, maybe in the past two years or so there’s been so much more porn with trans women with cis women.

Yeah, trans lesbian.

It’s just been really great to see, ’cause it doesn’t seem like people are really fetishizing it, it’s just like, here it is. And it’s really hot, and glamorous, and it’s awesome.

Yes, exactly, and I’m so thrilled to see that happening in the business because in previous years and previous times it very much has been fetishizing, and it’s very much been like, “Well, we can’t really shoot trans women with cis women because people don’t wanna see that or whatever,” and I’m just like “What!?” And so it’s kind of this thing where I’m gonna do what I like, what I want to do, and then people will follow, the people come. And that’s the thing is, I think people are like, “Well no, this isn’t marketable or whatever,” but you don’t really know because you didn’t really try. You gotta just do the thing you like and trust me, there is such a variety of human beings out out there watching porn that they’re gonna watch it. You’re gonna find your audience. I just I wanna make queer porn, I want it to just be like that here I am, this is me.

Are there any other directors that you look up to or speak inspiration from besides Courtney Trouble?

Let’s just say Courtney for now. And I always have… When I finally met Courtney, however many years ago, I was honestly nervous.

And so when it came to me having a studio through her company I asked, “Hey, maybe we could have a dinner, and I can just talk to you about how to set up something for myself so I can release more feature movies.” And she’s like, “How about he just do it through my company?” I was like, really!? [laughs]

You’ve been in the business since 2002. To what do you owe your longevity as a performer?

That it is a great question, isn’t it?

Well, first of all, I’ve never really had an agent telling me what to do, and my stance on agents for the most part is that they’re pretty terrible. The other thing I’ll say is, I don’t know, I think it’s a combination of that. I chose the thing that I wanted to do, which is to work with women, and I never really wavered from that, and so my passion has always come through because I’ve never been put in the position where I have to do a performance that I’m not comfortable doing, or that I don’t feel like doing. And I’ve adapted. So when the shit started hitting the fan a few years ago and I was like, “I guess I better start making my own content, since that’s the only way to make a living anymore,” I just started doing that. Beyond that, you tell me I guess. [laughs]

I feel super grateful and really blessed. And I seriously do have the most amazing fans and they are really loyal and hardcore and I appreciate that. It just keeps me going.

I was gonna ask, do you think you have more women or more men as fans? But it would probably be more male fans, right?

So here’s the thing, is that it feels like men are generally watching more porn, even though the past several years women have been more coming out of the closet about watching porn, and it’s definitely becoming more like, “Hey women are watching, maybe market to them a little bit,” but I will say that if I’m just going based off of the emails that I get, and the people who talk to me on Twitter, and the people who are just vocal about being my fans, it’s way more women really.

How has porn changed since 2002?

100% Pornhub has just turned everything upside down. Sometimes I wonder if they destroyed the industry.

I have to work five times as much to make half the money. And it is true, but on the other hand, it’s kind of forced us to be a little more entrepreneurial and a little more self-motivated and self-sustained. And in that aspect, I kinda do like it better, because previously it is very much be like… Alright, well when’s that phone ringing to give me a job? And you really were beholden to these companies, and whether or not they decide to shoot you. And that’s how it used to be, and it was great when I was getting booked all the time, but then there were months where it was like, “Oh my gosh, nobody’s booking me, what am I gonna do?” So then it went to camming, and then people started asking me for custom videos, and I just got a little handy cam to start shooting stuff. It forced me to become more self-reliant, and that has given me so much more freedom. My husband and I were able to move into our van and drive around the country for three years because I didn’t have to stay in LA to get work; I was making my own work. So the biggest shift would be from companies shooting porn all the time, and only being able to work for those companies, to now where we shoot the porn now. As performers, we make it and we can make whatever we want, and we’re making our income off the fans now.

And so in that sense, it’s more difficult, it’s more work, but it’s better because there is more freedom and that’s definitely the biggest change by far.

Sinn Sage & Cadence Lux in Strap On Sinners

Is there anything or any one that you want to do on camera, that you haven’t gotten to do yet?

So when it comes to male performers, I pretty much just work with my husband. We are open to trying to do maybe a boy-boy-girl scene, but I’m super fucking picky about that. It would have to be someone that we both like the person as a person. And so I guess I’m kind of looking forward to that. But something that I would really like to do on camera, some day, would really be a really forceful gangbang with like six guys. [laughs]

Oh wow!

I’m not sure if that’ll ever happen. If it doesn’t happen on camera, maybe I will orchestrate something in my personal life, for my 40th birthday or something, I don’t know. But it’s almost more like a fantasy, and it’s definitely a ravishing fantasy, you know what I mean?

But I don’t do anal, so I would have to be like, “Leave me butthole alone.” [laughs] I think it’s a possibility…

Gangbangs are a pretty common fantasy.

Yeah, yeah, definitely. And I would want it to be real, real degrading, and dehumanizing—and violent, but without hurting me. I’m just a crazy freak. [laughs]

Not sure if that will ever happen, but it’s something that I think about sometimes.

What do you get up to in your free time, when you’re not doing porno?

Free time… What’s that? [laughs]

Living in Vegas, we have made some great friends out here, so sometimes, I don’t know… we just hang out with them, at their place, smoke some weed and just maybe drink some wine. It’s pretty mellow these days.

We really do love road tripping, and hiking, and camping, and things like that. But since being in Vegas it’s just so hot. We’ve been hibernating this summer, to be honest with you. We’ve been playing video games when we have free time. It’s just very busy all the time, with lots of work and sitting on the computer. That’s one thing I think people are like, “Oh man, you’re in porn and just shooting fuck scenes all day.” I feel like 80% of the job is sitting at my computer.

Civilians don’t seem to understand that there’s so much boring behind-the-scenes work that goes on.

Oh yeah, and even on the days when you aren’t doing fuck scenes, it’s the ultimate in professionalism. Are these angles good? Is the lighting right? It’s just so much a job.

When I get to do the sex, it’s fun and I love it, but I’m also simultaneously thinking about where the camera is, if I’m opening up to it; there’s just so much to think about and especially when I’m doing my own productions. It’s so nice when I do get booked to shoot a scene for someone else ’cause I’m like, “Oh my job is just just do the performance.”

When we’re doing our own productions, I’m thinking about this, I’m thinking about that. I’m thinking about timing. It’s just a little bit more stressful.

I love my job so much. This was definitely just what I was born to do.

Sinn Sage & Rizzo Ford in Strap On Sinners

When you guys are traveling, what do you think your favorite place is to visit?

Oh, I can speak for both of us. When we drove to Alaska it was the most incredible thing that we’ve ever done in our lives.

The landscapes… your eyes are exploding to take it all in, and it’s so epic, the most epic thing you’ve ever seen. You’ve only ever seen it on the screen before, or a postcard is this little square, but then you’re standing in it, and it’s your 360 world and it’s just jaw-dropping amazing. But then when you drive there, you’re taking a journey through a space ship just going to these other lands, and I just saw so much, and it’s so long, ’cause it takes a week to drive there. That’s just the best thing I’ve ever done.

Did you see a moose while you were there?

Oh, God, we saw ten of them. We only ever saw the female or the young moose, we didn’t see the big buck with the horns. We saw a lynx and a beaver having a little face-off that went on for 40 minutes. It was incredible, right in front of us, we’re just watching this happen. That’s my jam.

What do you have coming up next that we should look forward to?

Definitely that movie I was just telling you about. We don’t have a title yet, but it will be something about threesomes, or groups, or whatever.

That’ll coming out towards the end of September, and I’m very excited about this one, and I hope y’all are too. Earlier this year, we released a movie called Going Deeper with Lily Lebeau. That was just a beautiful. It was a long-form scene that just kind of highlighted our special connection and our relationship over the years. And I have another one coming out toward the end of this year with Cherie Deville.

So I’d love to make this more of a series where I’m working with performers that have sort of been around, not as long as me, but been around for a while, and we’ve worked together several times and we’ve just developed a little bit more of a friendship, and a little bit more of a relationship than just co-stars. So I’m trying to put something like that together, and have it come out once or twice a year. So we’ll see who will be next.

How can your fans best support you?

So they can best support me by doing a couple of things. I have an OnlyFans, it’s only $10 a month and I put content up every single day, it’s onlyfans.com/sinnsage. They can go to either of my clip stores where they can buy clips directly. That is a huge way to support me. They can go to sinnsage.manyvids.com and sinnsagedreamsdreams.com.

Sinn Sage, Rizzo Ford and Mizz Amanda Marie in Strap On Sinners

Do you have any final words for the fans out there?

Well, just that I can’t do any of this without their support, it really means everything.
