Thousands of ballots were cast and the fans have spoken… Sarah Vandella is the 2020 HotMovies Pornament MVP! We sat down to chat with her on the day of her historic win to find out how she was feeling, where her winnings will be donated, and what’s next for the veteran MILF who won the hearts of fans around the world.
JH: Congratulations! How does your win feel?
SV: It feels amazing! It feels great to have the fans that supported me. I am super
grateful that it’s a fan-vote contest, which to me means more than an industry vote, not to be shady. [laughs] But I’m just so grateful that I asked the fans to vote, they responded, and it’s for a great cause which means everybody’s a part of it in a way—and what a nice, fun distraction considering everything that’s going on.
What do you think attributed to your success?
Well, I feel that what helped a lot is my catalog of work for over the years and all of the
consistency and hard work that I’ve dedicated. I think the fans can see that, and that might be a way that I stood out from other performers. And everyone was really great, so it was just nice to be alongside wonderful talent and great performers, so that was just already wonderful. But definitely offering a little incentive for the fans and letting them know that I do have very good intentions on using the winnings to help out as much as I can with everything going on. So I think that might have helped, and also just promoting—promotion is key, as they say!

You’ve very generously chosen to donate your winnings to organizations battling COVID-19 in Los Angeles. What can you tell us about that?
Absolutely. I wanted to donate the money somewhere where I knew it would go. So in the
beginning, I wasn’t sure if that was to the mayor, or to the city, or to here, to there. And a few people that I am friends with gave me their opinions, and after thinking about it, I realized who I think really needs the money the most: hospitals, nurses, doctors, and healthcare workers. They need masks, gloves, shoe coverings, gowns, you name it: all the things that a good amount of money can buy. I wish I could afford to donate money for ventilators, but I don’t have that kind of dough around. I had surgery about a year ago for a hernia and it was done right here in Glendale, and I thought,”You know what? That hospital’s probably battling with COVID.” I called them this morning and I spoke to them and I’m waiting for their return call, but I told them I’m interested in donating specifically to the nurses and doctors, to medical staff. And the lady almost started crying, I almost started crying. It was just really rewarding. And like I said, everyone who voted for me is a part of this. So this wasn’t just me; this was everyone: HotMovies, the voters, myself. This is something from all of us that we can kind of take away.
Aww, that’s awesome.
Thank you, thank you. I thought that would be a good idea. So I’m waiting for this lady to call me back and then I’m gonna find out if I can either send a check to the hospital or do an electronic donation. I feel really grateful that I can help out the community and try to save some lives. So what could be bad of that, right? [chuckles]
And we’re very honored and humbled to be able to participate in it with you. Yeah, it’s tough times, man.
I know. We just gotta take it one day at a time and try our very best to be as healthy and safe as
we can, whatever that means for us. Some people are service workers, some people are working from home, some people have children, and alongside being a parent and a role model, they’re now a teacher for their kids. It’s a lot for everyone in all kinds of situations and that’s why I think having compassion and kindness during these times is really important.
Absolutely. And the fallout from all this has hit the sex worker community particularly hard as
well, and I was wondering if it’s affected you at all and what you’re doing to get through the moratorium and everything.
It absolutely has affected lots of us, myself included, and it’s very nice to see that certain
organizations in our adult industry community are pooling together funds—for performers, for crew,
for whoever is in the most need—and I just find that to be awesome. I did donate a small amount
about two or three weeks ago, and I also considered donating some of the HotMovies winnings towards that as well, but I did see quite a great number of performers are donating very generous amounts to the FSC. That’s made me feel really good to be a part of an industry that cares.
But to answer your question, I certainly have. Earlier mid-March I did lose a handful of bookings for very great companies that I’m on rotation with and that was sad. I also had to cancel content bookings for my own website. I also cannot work at the Mustang Ranch right now, which is something that I do in-between filming for roughly about a week a month, just depending on the time of year. The governor of Nevada did close everything around St. Patrick’s Day, on March 17th. So the Ranch was hit as well—another element of legal sex work. But what I’ve done instead of all of these things that I have lost access to is utilize what I do have access to. It’s great that this HotMovies contest came at this time because it was a really nice, welcomed distraction and a good cause that I could pour some energy into, which took away from the usual routine of trying to keep myself from looking at the news. [laughs]
So yeah, I’m thankful for the contest, my fan platform, Skyping, and just doing things from home that I can do by myself while still sheltering in place. And some people have the option of filming with a significant other and they live together and that might make it easier to get a nice range of content during times like this. However, I don’t have that luxury; my boyfriend is out-of-state, but I’m going to wait until the moratorium is lifted. [laughs] I’m gonna just keep myself safe. So thankfully, I’m in a place where I can still make money, and I’m so grateful for that because a lot of people were… their whole life was turned upside down, and my heart goes out to them.
So the world’s quarantining; what are you doing to stay sane, busy, and occupied?
Well, I do daily yoga classes on Zoom with a couple different studios that I enjoy. One of the
perks of this is that I can do out-of-state studios on Zoom, so I’ve been seeing some people from New York and Seattle, and it’s kind of cool. Daily walks, if I can, if the weather permits—of course, wearing masks and gloves and maintaining social distancing. Keeping myself busy with small projects in my apartment, organization, and trying to maintain a clean home. Not that I wasn’t clean before, but this whole thing has rocked our world and so now it’s about being vigilant and not getting complacent. So whenever I leave the house for essentials, I always make sure to wipe them down in my little foyer before I bring them into the house, and just little things like that. Just practicing vigilance there. And then of course, FaceTiming with friends and family is huge for me, and then maintaining my fan support on my platforms is great, so I can get a little bit of personal time, family time, and work time kind of in a day. So I’m staying productive. I definitely need to organize my closet and a few other things, but for the most part, it’s nice to have a really clean kitchen right now, and just everything’s fresh and clean and smells good, so, I’m gonna maintain that. [laughs] Lots of cleaning.
If you hadn’t been competing in the tournament this year, who would you have been rooting for?
So there were a lot of great performers in this contest, but a few that really stood out to me
were Lauren Phillips, Keira Croft, and Jennifer White. I love Aria Khaide and I love Serene Siren. But yeah, tough choice. All of the ladies are phenomenal.
Speaking of Serene, during your campaign, you tweeted a video of yourself with Serene on a
Black Label XXX set, which we’re very excited to see one day. What can you tell us about that day on set with Serene and what you guys were working on?
Yes, that was an amazing day. Black Label has just a beautiful set, and we shot with them and it
was extra-special because she and I got to keep content. It was really our first time together-
together. We’d been on set previous times and connected through just conversing and getting to
know each other a little bit on Twitter. We wanted to work with each other and it just worked out
perfectly that we had this opportunity to collaborate with Black Label, and we had such a hot day. I
mean just the chemistry was off the charts. I loved our outfits, the set, I loved our sex, I loved just
our connection. And she’s intense in the best way, [laughs] you don’t wanna look away. It’s amazing. So that was really fun and I hope to work with her again sooner rather than later!
We’re having a sale on your scenes in honor of your win. Are there any particular that you think your fans should definitely check out?
Yes! I love my scenes in The Silent Caller, which is also my favorite feature that I’ve been in in the last two years, so I would say to check that out. Any of my Throated work is pretty awesome. The fans love it; if you’re a newer fan or looking for oral stuff, check that out. And if you’re looking for some great girl-girl, which I always love filming, I would say check out some of my newer work for GirlGirl.com. I have done some great stuff with them.
And that reminds me, just before the quarantine, I filmed a really cool scene with Alexis Fawx and Quinton James for MissaX, and it was so amazing, and Joanna Angel was our director as well, but it was just phenomenal. So I hope they can keep an eye out for that, the title is called Neon Moonlight.
Our fans love MissaX! One of her movies has been our Most Popular for a couple weeks now, I think, which is almost unheard of. Yeah, she’s great, I love her.
Same. Her stuff is so hot. It’s just shot beautifully and Joanna has a great vision as a director.
What projects can we look forward to seeing from you this year?
As of right now, just totally solo stuff on OnlyFans. I do have a couple scenes that I’m waiting
to be released for other studios, just not sure how that’s gonna work. I did shoot for Brazzers before the quarantine, one with Lana Sharapova, and some stuff for Girlsway and Fantasy Massage. I shot for Kay Brandt in February or January, for one of her sequels to a feature, Lustful Wife 2. I’m really looking forward to that. I got to do a scene with the gorgeous Gianna Dior who’s one of my favorite newcomers in the business. So I did a scene with her and Vera King. It was a really hot threeway: girl-girl-girl. That should be for Adam & Eve Pictures, and I’m really looking forward to it being released. I also did a scene with Kyler Quinn and Gianna Dior for Girlsway which should be releasing soon, too. I have few great things coming up!
I was gonna do some feature dancing but that has been paused. I would like to get back into
camming, so that’s something that I might add to my at-home work. Besides that I’m just trying to promote anything on my OnlyFans and anything that I’m seeing that is coming out immediately.
What would you like to say to all of your fans at HotMovies.com?
First, I wanna say thank you to HotMovies for having this awesome, fun tournament. I
was so happy to win and be a part of it. And to the fans, I wanna say thank you guys for taking the
time out of your day to join HotMovies and vote for me and support me, and hopefully become a
new fan of mine if you weren’t already. And thank you for helping me do something for a really great cause, and everyone was a part of this, so everyone should be happy.
