Girlfriends Films consistently puts out great content. Like time and the tide, they are a studio we can rely on if we want to get off. Serene Siren, a great performer, is still relatively new to directing. It is apparent in her short time that she has the needed chops to make a quality Girlfriends title (she has so far directed exclusively for them). So between Serene and GF, it feels a little unfair to call one of their movies a surprise. But that’s exactly what we got from them recently: a surprise.
Girlfriends spends a lot of time focusing on their content. They know how to stay in their lane and make good, passionate films. Their series tend to go on and on, even as their storylines stay fresh. We just released the 175th (!) Women Seeking Women. Lesbian Seductions is now on volume seventy. Even a newer series like Bad Lesbian is up to Volume 12 (and is directed by Serene and is so, so hot). What I’m trying to say is that at GF, there is a formula. A formula, however, that gets broken with Alien Rhapsody: an original feature both written by and directed by Serene. No Volume 113 (though I’m already ready for a sequel to this), just a wild premise and hot sex that seems to have really resonated with our HotMovies users.
Clip 1 – Charlotte Sins and Lacy Lennon
Let’s not beat around the bush, this movie is owned by Lacy Lennon. The film starts off with Lacy in an absolute rage-filled bout of agony. Lacy’s character is trans and having gender dysphoria. It’s a really serious issue, and the character’s solution is to commit suicide. The segment is kind of heart-stopping. It’s not sexy. It’s not romantic. It is a voiceover of Lacy doing a hell of a job hitting every note that she should to convey the character’s pain. And the voiceover is set to Lacy in action, choking herself, screaming, raging, and contemplating the knife. Her physical acting is just as impressive as her reading. And in just a handful of minutes, we already have a bonafide contender for a Best Actress nomination for AVN and XBIZ.
Again, not sexy. Super not sexy. But this is a porn, and you likely are in masturbation or foreplay position watching a movie like this from the get-go. So we are primed to be forgiving in the transition from dramatic realness to sexy time. And this transition is about as bizarre and interesting as you’re liable to find. The body of Lacy’s character becomes inhabited by an alien. Through voiceover, we find out that this race of alien can only inhabit the body of beings that have committed suicide (which is a really interesting and offbeat quirk to this sci-fi story). And we also find out that this particular alien is addicted to sex, and particularly to women. And we also find out that these aliens give off some sort of chemical that makes them completely irresistible. And we also find out that exposure to this chemical from alien lovemaking is toxic and fatal. It’s a lot to take in, but this exposition is all done to Lacy Lennon checking herself out and rubbing herself all over. The voiceover could have been Lacy Lennon telling me that I’m getting audited by the IRS and I’d be okay with it so long as it came with her rubbing on herself.
So enter Charlotte Sins, looking for her girlfriend Lacy. Worried sick and horrified by the sight of blood, Charlotte tries to get Lacy help. Instead Lacy weaves her newfound alien charms, and the two are having sex pretty quickly. The sex is hungry and passionate. Lacy does an incredible job of displaying her alien personality: dominant, smugly satisfied that its getting to have sex again (with the naughty knowledge that that means curtains for her poor human fuck-mate), and in love with every bit of sensation from its physical act. And Charlotte responds to all this perfectly: a mixture of love and intoxication. It’s a “save this to My Favorites” kind of scene.
Clip 2 – Emma Starletto and Vina Sky
The acting goes kind of off the rails here, and it’s just a reminder that good performers aren’t always good actors, and vice-versa. Vina Sky is a cop that seems to have known the now-deceased Charlotte. Along with her partner, played by Serene Siren herself, they find the body. When Vina can’t hack it, Serene sends her off. Vina heads home to mourn and let her girlfriend (played by Emma Starletto) know about her grisly discovery.
Emma is a good girlfriend, and uses a romantic bit of sex to ease Vina’s suffering. The sex is romantic and slow. It simmers but never boils. It is lovemaking, not fucking. And it is exactly what this sort of moment called for. It is also super hot, and the moment that Emma is on all fours on the bed and Vina starts tonguing her lady’s butthole, I was done for. The scene finishes with Vina grinding on Emma’s face, and it is just amazing.
I also want to note something about the movie here. It is only after Emma and Vina have sex that it becomes clear that Alien Rhapsody is more than just drama and sex. It is funny, too. Vina’s phone call from the police station gives us all license to chuckle with the movie (in between the sexytimes). In fact, this might be my favorite bit of comedy in the movie: she gets a call and—out loud—repeats what she hears, “The case has moved to the Z Files? Alien DNA was found in her blood?” She follows by saying, “Oh, it’s top secret? I get it.” Meanwhile, her girlfriend is right there. It’s great.
Clip 3 – Diana Grace and Eva Long
So lots of setup happens here. Emma is bushwhacked on her way to shower by Lacy. We are privy to the crack team set up by the Z Files to investigate this alien black widow. A forensic scientist played by Diana Grace talks about her chemical findings, and in another genuinely funny moment, a cop, played by Verronica Kirei, dim-wittedly quaffs down Diana’s chemical creation. It leaves Verronica feeling funny, and she can’t help but diddle herself in a tizzy in the police locker room shower.
Diana Grace is then talking to another cop, played by Eva Long. She explains that she has discovered what she thinks is a way to counteract the alien’s toxicity. And somehow, binding bodily fluids to the formula dramatically increases its effectiveness. I don’t think that there was a scientific advisor on set, but that’s okay. Diana essentially tells Eva that if she’s going to take it, either both of them could spit in the serum and then Eva could drink it… or they could kiss first. Eva opts for the latter option (if you were looking at Diana, wouldn’t you?). They both drink the serum, and as with Verronica before them, it makes them insanely horny.
The pair go off to a couch, presumably somewhere in the Z Files headquarters or police station or wherever they’re supposed to be now. And honestly? I wasn’t feeling the scene. Eva is attractive. Diana on looks alone is someone I’ll be excited to follow, but there was a spark missing from much of the sex. So imagine my surprise when it turns around during the twosome tribbing. All of a sudden, they found their stride as scene partners and the passion exploded into life on camera. The scene ends with Diana leaned up against Eva on the couch, and Eva rubbing Diana’s pussy vigorously. It is so hot and so genuine that it seriously makes me wonder what was missing in the beginning that they obviously had in spades by the end. Unless you are a devoted Eva or Diana fan, or a gooner, skip to the second half of this sex scene.
Clip 4 – Lacy Lennon and Verronica Kirei
Alien Lacy has creeped in on the masturbating Verronica. The two have a history, and it makes Verronica’s character exceedingly shy in front of the leering extraterrestrial. But that chemical is hard to resist, and so is a gorgeous redhead rubbing and kissing and licking your body, and Officer Kirei gives in to the temptations of the flesh.
This scene is another scorcher: a legitimate lesbian erotica hall-of-fame contender (I just made this hall-of-fame up, but it exists in my mind now). A locker room shower has always been a great place for a sex scene… and the pair take turns licking, and nibbling, and rubbing, and fingering. At one point, Verronica makes Lacy cum so hard that I think the actress Lacy legitimately fell in love with Verronica. She even, in the afterglow of her orgasm, licks and kisses Verronica’s ankle in an adorable sort of thank you (Verronica was bent over an on-her-back Lacy). In short, this scene is the stuff lesbian erotica dreams are made of.
The movie ends with Eva Long busting in on Lacy and an assumedly deceased Verronica to arrest the alien (and Eva’s cop uniform hilariously includes heels). Verronica winds up fine, or a little woozy and fine. And, scene.
