Introducing Our New Non-Binary Performer Gender Designation

HotMovies, the largest library of adult videos online, has taken steps toward more accurately reflecting the broad spectrum of people both performing in and consuming pornography. With the public discourse helping to educate people that gender is not a binary institution, HotMovies has created a new non-binary gender designation for its database of performers.

HotMovies Introduces Non-Binary Gender Designation for Performers

Director of Social Media for HotMovies, Judy Hologram, had some thoughts on the pioneering adjustment:

“Adding a non-binary gender classification to our database of adult performers is an important step in the right direction for two reasons. For starters, our users will now have more accurate information about some of their favorite stars. Secondly, it recognizes and affirms the diverse spectrum of identities that exist within the community of adult performers. I’m excited to start the process of updating our star listings, and look forward to seeing how HotMovies will grow to be more inclusive in the future.”

With the rise of public understanding, it was time for HotMovies to make the change. There are many shades and terms along the gender spectrum, and in an effort to be as inclusive as possible, HotMovies decided to add non-binary to its gender database options alongside male, female, and trans.

In the past, much of the adult industry has viewed non-binary performers as fringe or niche, but that is finally changing. Internet Marketing Coordinator for HM had this to say,

“Adult entertainment has long been at the vanguard of rights issues and acceptance. It’s a natural progression that we acknowledge the genderqueer community and work to promote inclusion and understanding.”

Performers who need their HotMovies or GayHotMovies profiles updated for any reason are encouraged to reach out via email or through their social media DMs.
