Pornbusters is back to do what your parents and the public education system absolutely refused to do: answer all your stupid questions about SEX! We all want more sex, and more orgasms, but does having sex on the regular really count as a good source of exercise? Or, is just bullshit like taking a stroll around the park with a malfunctioning Fitbit?
Cardiogasm, starring Natasha Nice, Cherie DeVille, Gia Derza, and Scarlit Scandal brought this question to mind. Cardiogasm’s tagline is about wanting you to live a healthier, sexier life—ostensibly through more orgasms. Pornbusters wants to answer the question: will a regular and healthy (vanilla-ish) sex life keep you fit? How many calories will you actually burn during a Cardiogasm? Let’s find out!
Researchers and science-type people have been trying to figure out how many calories a romp in the sack burns for years, but the results have varied greatly. Anything that gets your heartrate pumping is bound to shed some calories, provided your ticker is in tip-top shape. According to Lindsey Marcellin, MD, for your basic sexual intercourse, most calorie-burning estimates range from 100 to 200 per session. Not too shabby, but not quite the equivalent of an hour of hell on the treadmill or in the boxing ring. The heartrate for an orgasm during masturbation is said to be the equivalent to running up four flights of steps. WHEW! As you can see from Cardiogasm‘s Natasha Nice, she clearly gets the heart pumping! So, don’t count out those solo sessions either!
Although it gets the heart pumping, an orgasm burns just two to three calories, though a person can burn around fifty calories in the activity leading up to the orgasm! Add some foreplay to your workout or do a few push-ups before you decide to get yourself off to get the most out of your session. Cherie DeVille certainly looks amazing in those yoga pants as she maximizes that heart health!
Whether you are by yourself or with a partner, foreplay before that orgasm is key to getting the most out of your sexual fitness session. A 150-pound person will burn about 25 calories for every 15 minutes of foreplay. Double (or triple!) the time involved, and you can burn the exact amount of calories that you would during a ten-minute run. So regular sex or orgasms can’t replace a workout routine, but it’s an enticing way to burn those extra calories, and the more passion, heat, and motion you put in, the more calories you’ll shed and your heart will thank you for it. Be sure to workout along with Gia Derza and Scarlit Scandal as they trib each other into a nice sweat. Hopefully, tribbing will soon become the nation’s newest exercise fad to finally end Crossfit’s reign of terror! Clearly Gia and Scarlet know how to get the most out of their heart health.
Did I mention that I’m not a doctor? That’s probably important. I have been called Dr. Feelgood, but I am a blogger.. But we definitely recommend working out with the women of Cardiogasm AND talking to a medical professional about your sexual, heart health, and fitness goals. The more orgasms, the better! Wink, wink!
So, is sex a good source of exercise? With foreplay, orgasms, and those all-too-important self-care solo sessions sprinkled in, we’d say YES!
