As the headliner of his own titular series, Dredd is a force to be reckoned with. Under the direction of Jules Jordan, he delivers energetic, powerhouse scenes with porn’s biggest starlets. And yet, off-camera, the man with arguably the biggest dick in the biz is a cool, calm, laid-back nerd. We sat down with Dredd to discuss Dredd 10, working with Jules Jordan, how 2020 has been treating him—and yes, his huge cock.
Judy: What can your fans expect from Dredd 10?
Dredd: Pretty much more of the same. Jules Jordan Video has a standard of excellence, and so the previous nine episodes have all been great.
Yeah, once you’re on top it’s kinda hard to go higher.
Yeah, he’s set a high bar in all the years he’s been doing it, so I’d like to think that it’s continued on with myself with my line.
It’s a pretty big milestone to hit ten installments in a series. What are you most proud of with this series?
I’m most proud of the fact that each and every installment, there hasn’t been one where it’s been subpar. I guess at times it could be tough living up to that, but as long as Jules has been doing it, and as long as I’ve been doing it, I guess it’s to be expected. I’m most proud of just the consistency.
Where do you want the series to go in the future?
I love that question actually. I’d like to see it expand, because we’ve really done a lot of one-on-one stuff. I’m definitely open to more threesomes, so hopefully we can get that going. And also, I’d like to see just a little bit more variety—maybe more Asian women, more women of color, mix it up a little bit more.
If you were to cast your ideal threesome, who would be in it?
We’ve only shot, believe or not, two of them. One was with Gina Valentina and Karlee Grey, and the other one was more recently with Kenzie Madison and Katie Kush.
So the ideal dream scenario, gosh, gotta put Angela White in there. I would say Angela White and Adriana Chechik, and I know that’s a tall order because just dealing with them one-on-one individually is a lot. So you’re probably saying, “Wait a minute, both of them at the same time?” But we’re talking about a dream scenario, so those two, where it could just be a total fuckfest where it’s just everybody’s going at it, and I think that would be pretty wicked to see.
Yeah, that would be quite the powerhouse, I think.
No doubt, there’s no doubt on that. [laughs]
Do you get any say in who gets cast in your movies or is that all on Jules?
Every now and then he will ask me about a recommendation. I am in an exclusive pro deal with him, but with OnlyFans on the rise I’ve gotten into that. I’ve been picking up the pace, so he’ll on occasion ask how’d this person do or that person. It’s tricky lining girls up for me, obviously because of my size, so there are some girls who won’t work with me for that reason, and it could be kind of tough. For the most part, I think he carefully goes through agencies that he’s familiar with, then just makes sure he gets a girl who’s up for the Dredd challenge.
What do you look for in a scene partner, personally?
You know something, that’s another good question. Age or color, none of that matters. I know this is such a cliche thing, but the chemistry. If the chemistry is there, she’s able to take what I’m delivering and we get a really good scene. Jules has a certain vision with the way he wants things done, so if we can kind of find that chemistry I think that equates to a really good scene. I know this may sound kind of crazy, but Jules has the tough part of capturing those angles that he’s really good at, and it’s really him who leads the way as opposed to me. You can’t go wrong with him because he’s been doing it for so long, and that’s the main reason that I decided to go with him.
What’s a day like on a Jules Jordan set from start to finish?
It’s pretty easygoing compared to what I’ve heard from other sets. There were a few times when I shot for Blacked.com or Blacked Raw, and we’re talking like a whole day… minimum of six, seven, eight hours. With Jules it’s not that long, it’s pretty easygoing. But he’s meticulous, so certain things that he wants done, you just try to nail it the first time and everything keeps running smoothly. I’ve never had a situation with him where there was something that just couldn’t get done or we were stuck on a certain thing. So it’s pretty light, it’s pretty swift. He keeps it moving.
Yeah, in my interactions with Jules, he’s always struck me as very fastidious and very professional and proud of what he does…
There’s no doubt on that. The thing is there’s two Jules. I’ve gotten to know him pretty good on a personal level, and he’s a cool guy, but then the game face comes on on set. I like that as opposed to a director who just says, “Have at it, you switch it up when you want, get into this position or whatever.” I like having that guidance because then it gets time to put my game face on, you get the most out of the scene and he’s really good at that. Even girls who we’ve shot, maybe it’s the first time that he’s shooting them, they’ll show up on set and they kinda know shooting for Jules Jordan is a big, serious deal.
So Lena Paul is in this movie and I have a crush on her, so what can you tell us about working with her? ‘Cause she’s just the bee knees in my mind. [laughs]
Obviously, the physical attributes are there, and so for me right out the gate, I was more than ready. I had known of her, I was ready to shoot with her and she was awesome. She’s one of those really consummate professionals: on time, ready to go, let’s knock it out. She was fun.
Some girls just have that “it factor,” that it’s like, “Okay. She knows what’s going on here.” I love that. I’d rather deal with more experienced performers, and Lena’s experienced. She’s shot for quite a few people, and she was all about making sure we deliver a kickass scene. I’m pretty sure that was an anal scene that we shot, and she was just phenomenal. I have nothing but the best of best words to say about her.
With Cindy Starfall, it seemed like you also had a really good connection with her. She seemed very excited to meet you.
Yes, yes. She’s small. I seem to have historically, throughout my career, had some of my better scenes with girls that you think, “I don’t know, man, she’s just so tiny, it might not work.” The smaller girls, I cannot explain it, but they are just wired differently, and she was no different. She took everything I was dishing and had a great attitude. She’s another one that I was aware of before we shot, so I was pretty excited to finally shoot with her and the scene was flawless.
How big is your dick?
That is a question that’s followed me forever. And here’s the thing, I usually just say ten inches to play it safe. And people laugh when I say, “to play it safe” with ten inches. I don’t remember when was the last time I actually measured it. It’s weird because some people don’t believe that and they’re like, “No, come on man, be honest with me,” and it’s the truth. Obviously you have guys in the industry who are maybe eight inches and say they’re ten, or seven inches and say they’re nine. They always add something. So I always just kinda go with the ten-inch thing, and I really mean it to play it safe, and I think it is somewhere in that neighborhood, but all these outrageous, “Oh, it’s 12, 14 inches.” No, it’s not, that I can say, but I go with ten inches.
After awhile, a number is just a number. It’s all on film, we can see it, you know?
Even though some people put that tag on me of being the biggest in the business, you’ll never hear that come out of my mouth. There’s always gonna be some other guy who’s behind you who could be bigger. Now, it really hasn’t happened yet. And what I hear from a lot of girls is that a lot of guys who are big, it’s difficult keeping it hard. I take pride in that I’ve never really had that issue.
What does the term ‘big dick energy’ mean to you?
Well, that means something to me because I’m one of the last guys in the business. When I first got in, there were other sizable guys who were still in the rotation, guys like Shane Diesel who is still doing stuff, but not on the scale that he was. Lexington Steele is a big guy, he’s not around anymore. Then there was Mandingo, who was before me, and he’s gone, so I gotta represent the ‘big dick energy’ thing, and I’m trying to do the best I can with that.
There’s just not as many guys in the industry that have that big dick energy. So it means a lot to me, and it just means that I gotta continue. I still feel like I have some good porn miles left in me, so I want to continue to represent big dick energy.
Are there any challenges to having a really big dick in porn? And has anybody even been unable to accommodate you on set?
There was one time out of many where it just didn’t happen. I won’t say her name. I don’t even think she’s in the industry anymore. But this was a case where I believe she just kind of psyched herself out, and it didn’t happen.
I really haven’t experienced any disadvantages. Truth be told, I didn’t realize that I was really packing what I had. I thought, growing up, that most guys were kinda working with the same thing. [laughs] I was wrong about that. When I got into porn, that’s when the reality kicked in that yeah, I’m definitely working with something that’s above average. My size has always been advantageous for me throughout my porn career.
In my personal life, there haven’t been any disadvantages at all. The girls that I’ve been with personally, they’ve all been completely, fully accommodating to it. So there’s never been a negative side to it. It’s just really worked wonders for me, and I’m happy that it did.
What do you think is the appeal for straight dudes who watch big dick porn?
It’s about the woman in big dick porn. It’s seeing how the women react. It’s seeing if some women tend to struggle a little bit; there are some guys who are into that aspect of it. I’m not, but there are guys who are into that. If you’re a straight guy you’re looking to see just how well she takes it. And there are the girls like Adriana Chechik or Angela White, who have no problem whatsoever. I think it’s always the question of, “How is this girl gonna deal with that? I gotta see it.” You know what I mean? Whereas, the gay guy may be thinking, “What would I like to do with that thing?” or, “What could go down?” So it’s different. I know I have a lot of gay fans, and I love the gay fans. It’s just two different universes, obviously.
Do you have a lot of female fans as well?
Well, I do, but within like the last couple of years, porn has turned into a situation where you’ve got these guys who are in the gym seven days a week, and they’re buff, and cut-up, and toned. I’ve never really been the “seven days in the gym,” guy. I just like to let my performance speak for itself. One of the things I like about when I’m shooting for Jules is he’ll showcase my personality.
So yes, I do have female fans, but not as many as some of the other guys on the scene who are a lot younger than me. When I get recognized, it’s so random. It could be a college girl, college guy, in high school, older. It always means a lot to me when people around my age, in their 40s, come up to me and say, “Man, I just wanna give you props for still holding it down for us older people.” I always appreciate that.
I thought it was interesting that you said that Jules showcases your personality in your movies; can you talk about your personality a little bit? Who are you when you’re off set?
There’s this misconception because of how I perform. There are times when I will get a little rambunctious and speed things up and put the pedal to the metal, and I think when people see that, they assume that I’m just this guy who’s like, “Screw it, I’m just gonna do what I wanna do,” when it couldn’t be any further from the truth. For people who have shot with me and have gotten to know me, I’m really the polar opposite of that. I’m more of an introvert, very laid back, a bit quiet. When I first started shooting for these guys in Miami, their whole focus was on the dick, period; they didn’t get anything past that. You may not even heard my voice, it was all about that and what it could do, whereas Jules may have little things where there’s some interaction, where I may get a chance to, even if it’s only a few lines, let people get a better feel for who I am as a person as opposed to just the performance. So kudos to him for doing that. People who have shot with me can tell you that I’m a really laid-back, nice guy.
2020 has been a big year for everybody, so I’m just gonna keep it simple. How have you been doing? How are you holding up?
Well, I’ve been holding up okay. I know it’s been a really unpredictable, crazy year, that nobody’s ever seen before, so I quit trying to call it or figure out when there will be a return to some normalcy. I think it’s going to come, I don’t know when, but this has been a tough one. You can’t plan anything, so many of these events that have been canceled. I think I’ve been managing to keep it together a lot better than most people. I look at it as it is what it is, we just have to be safe, be smart, and at some point it’s going to end. It’s been stressful, but I’m managing alright.
Did you guys film Dredd 10 after everything had started, or is this pre-lockdown?
It was right on the cusp of when things were starting to take a turn for the worse, so it’s pre-lockdown.
What did you do to stay happy and sane during lockdown? Did you bake bread?
I had to really dig deep, mentally. I like to consider myself a guy who’s wrapped pretty tight, from a mental perspective. There were times when I could feel that the walls were closing in, that feeling of just despair. It was like, “Oh God, how long do we have to live like this?” Since I moved out to LA, I’ve gotten more in touch with the whole healthy living thing: up early, exercising, working out, being in the best shape that I’ve been in in my adult life. I mean I’m in better shape now in my late 40s than I was in my 20s, which is crazy to say. I just kept myself occupied. You had to find something to put your energy into other than just watching the news and constantly talking about it. So I tried to lock in on getting up early, walk for a couple miles, come back, do a little workout, and mentally dig deep.
That was the only way, because it would have been so much tougher if I didn’t. I’ll be honest with you, I did have a period, maybe around March when… I’ll just put it to you this way, Judy, I was in the grocery store and went by that bakery section. You know what I’m saying. [laughter] Some of those donuts and cupcakes. I had a moment when I broke. I don’t mean to laugh ’cause it’s not funny, but it happens, the stress eating.
Oh I know. I’m very familiar with it.
I went down that street in like March, and then I had to check myself. That I did wrestle with, and that’s the God’s honest truth. But then I got past that, and I said, “No, man, you can’t. You can’t throw it all away.” You know what I mean? So even though we’re going through one of the worst patches ever, and it’s hard to stay focused and be disciplined, I managed to do it. I mean, I don’t mean to talk about this thing like it’s past tense. Who knows what’s coming. I mean the numbers are not looking good, right now
With the rise of Black Lives Matter protests this summer, the industry continued its reckoning with the way that it treats Black performers. If you became the boss of everyone, how would you want to see things change, if at all?
I don’t think that major, major change is necessary, and I’m gonna tell you why. It’s porn, and I know that throughout the history of porn, there’s always been a lot of parody. And in this day and age, you gotta be careful with parody. So I wouldn’t eliminate taking out the fun of it all, but that being said, there are certain sites that are really over the top with that racial element that I think there’s really no need for. I don’t think there’s any need for that moving forward in this day and age, especially after what’s gone down in 2020. So I would eradicate that altogether. I’m talking specifically about some of the titles that are like, really for shock value.
There are a lot of things that could fly back in the day that can’t fly now, and the over-the-top racial element in porn I think we could do without. I know there’s been talk about the interracial label, and it’s not good. I don’t see it that way myself, per se. So many people have their kink or their fetish of what they like to see. In fact, there are a lot of people that like to see that skin contrast of Black and White, and it is what it is. Is it an interracial situation? It is. So the argument that it’s not [interracial] and we’re all on this even playing field, I don’t subscribe to that. And I think one of the good things about just living life is that we’re all different.
If there’s people who wanna see Black guy/White girl, I’m gonna keep doing that, and it’s the same thing if there’s people who wanna see a Black girl with a White guy. To try to say, “You know what, we’re all the same, let’s move forward, let’s just do things this way,” I don’t know. Moving forward, the question you asked me is how would I deal with it. I would change things, but I would also keep some things the same. I don’t think everything needs to be changed.
By no means am I justifying any of the specific incidents that people were talking about. I think racism on a whole is just this ugly thing, and I think there’s just no place for it in porn. I think that the writing’s on the wall for the over-the-top racist stuff, whether it’s titles or just dialogue between performers. Years ago, there were some things that just there’s no way you can try to get away with that now, it’s not happening. I would clean things up, but I think that’s one of the beauties of porn too, is just seeing the makeup of different people, and I would keep that going.
Yeah, it sounds like you would eliminate a lot of that mean-spiritedness, does that sound fair?
Yeah, but even back years ago, with it being porn it was always just parody, you know what I mean? I remember as a kid, there were titles that you would look at and go, “Oh, shit, wow, I can’t believe that… Look at that!” And you would laugh it off. But with the climate, and with the #MeToo movement, it’s just not cool. Although the intentions may not have been to offend—maybe they were more to be humorous—that’s just not flying. That’s not cutting it nowadays. People are gonna have to be way more aware of how they label things. But all in all, I think it’s in good shape. I don’t think everything needs to be reset, because I think that’s pipe-dreams, fairytale living. And I’ve heard some people mentioning that whole, “We’re all as one, we’re all equal.” We’re not, and I don’t mean that in a bad way, I think that’s a good thing.
So out in the real world, what would your ideal woman be like?
Believe it or not, I got a lot of nerd-like tendencies. She’d have to roll similar to how I roll, as far as music taste, as far as just activities that I like to do, ’cause I’m cut from a different cloth. At this stage of my life, I’m not really looking to change a whole lot, and I’m not saying that in a bad way. And color is not an issue. That’s never, never mattered to me, that’s how I was raised.
I mean, hey, I like comic books and science fiction, you know what I mean? So if she can roll with me on that, that would be ideal. And just on a sexual level, it’s tough because when you’re in porn and you’re used to having sex at this really high level, and then you have to put that in the closet and get to the regular level. The last girlfriend I had, she wasn’t affiliated with the industry in any way at all, and I started getting into porn while we were still together, and she didn’t have any issues, everything was cool, but that part was difficult. You go on set and you’re doing all these wild and crazy things, and now you get back to your regular girlfriend and it’s like, “Yeah, no, we’re not gonna be doing any reverse cowgirl on the counter tonight.” [laughs] But seriously, we just have to have some similar interests, and I’m just looking for somebody who’s cool, who could take me for who I am, what I am, and what I do, and yeah, we’d be fine.
What do you nerd out over the hardest?
Oh god, comic books. Comic books, Judy. Since I was a kid I was raised with reading science-fiction books, and I was into horror back when I was a kid. Don’t laugh at me, I’m being totally honest with you, I was infatuated with the old horror movies, Dracula and Bella Lugosi, and Frankenstein and…
The old Universal monsters!
Yes, I was heavily into that as a kid, and comic books—and believe it or not, yes, pro-wrestling. I’m not into wrestling anymore, I got off that shit many years ago, but when I was a kid, those were the things I was into. That and porn. And I was just this nerdy kid who was just sexually oppressed, so that was like really my escape. Star Trek, I was heavily into that, and I still am to this day. So that’s like a side of me that not too many people know about, but that was pretty much the extent of my nerding out. And the music I listen to, which is different than what a lot of people are into. I like older music, I like the Motown sound. The older the better for me.
Do you collect vinyl or anything?
No, I know there’s been a resurgence in it, I have a brother who’s been trying to sell me on it and I’m just not buying it so far. If you don’t mind me asking, how old are you, Judy?
I’m 31.
Okay, so people in their 20s and 30s who didn’t really catch the vinyl days, I think now are more inclined to see what that’s about, whereas my brother, he’s older than me and my thing to him is, “You’ve been there and done that. You cannot have me believe that it’s better to have to get up and put the needle on and have to sit there and make sure the record is straight, you gotta dust it off and go through all that. I’m sticking with the digital era.” I do have an appreciation for vinyl, I no longer have any vinyl, and I’m not trying to downplay anybody who may be collecting. I think it’s a good thing, but personally I’ve been there, done that, and I’m keeping it moving at this point.
What makes you feel sexy?
It’s just the confidence, and I think I was never really one of these guys who had it easy like that, who just would have girls fawning over them. I was always having to work at it, which was fine. I did okay, I got my share. But I think that for me, developing that sexy confidence took time, and it didn’t really come out, to be honest with you, until I got into porn. Then I did some time in the swinging lifestyle, which I got caught up in for about maybe six years, and that brought on more confidence and feeling sexy… confidence I had to really develop ’cause I didn’t have that early on. I had to really work on that. Now I have it; if I go on set, or even if I’m meeting somebody, I have it.
What’s the way for your fans to support you?
Keep tuning in to what’s going on with Jules Jordan because we’re not done. We still have plenty more to do. I’m also doing my own thing with my own little platform, so definitely follow what’s going on on Twitter and Instagram, and follow what’s going on on Jules Jordan’s Twitter and Instagram. I always love the positive feedback.
And any last words for your fans at HotMovies.com?
I’m thankful for all the fans that I’ve built up during my time in the industry, and my words to them are to keep supporting, keep hanging in there. We’ve got much more coming and I appreciate all of them.
