I’m prone to hyperbole in these movie reviews. I’ve got to put lipstick on pigs sometimes because it’s my job to help sell movies just as much as it is to write about the good stuff that we have. Let’s face it: not all exclusives are created equal. So it fills me with a warmth and glee as a writer, a porn lover, and someone who wants to push something good to watch on you HotMovies users when I get the chance to review something genuinely good.
I am happy to report that there will be no hyperbole in this review. These are my thoughts on the film Girl Friday, plain and simple, so swears one Jeffton Sinclaire Banks. I was jazzed when Erika Lust Films started putting movies on our platform again, but truth be told I had forgotten how good a Lust title could be. Director Nica Noelle has given us a film that shows us what an adult title can be: both engaging in terms of storytelling and sexy as all get-out.

It almost feels like a betrayal breaking this movie review down by the clips. This movie really does call out for (and deserve) being seen whole… even if you skip through some of the sex if you’ve already spent yourself. There is a full 20 minutes of exposition and lead-in before the first “true” sex scene. Before then, we do see nudity and we do see Mona Wales work on getting herself off with a wand… but for dedicated sex it takes a while.
The plot, which was inspired by the Maggie Gyllenhall/James Spader cult classic, Secretary (guess we know what Jeffton is re-watching this weekend), focuses on Lena Anderson’s character, Charlie—a socially awkward loner in search of a job fresh out of graduating with a photography degree. She finally lands an interview at a law office headed by Olivia (Mona Wales) and it does not appear that it went well. Lo and behold, Charlie gets the job… and previous secretary, Rachel (Maddy O’Reilly), has left her post in a seeming fit.
Rachel storms back into Olivia’s office on Charlie’s first day, and Olivia has Charlie take a couple hours away so that Rachel can be dealt with. We see that there is a really interesting dynamic here, with Olivia having a Domme/sub relationship with Rachel that even through Rachel’s anger at having been let go for some other girl still holds power. If I’m being honest (which I am), this is my favorite sex in the movie. There is passion and fire in it. Maddy is a beautiful, naturally voluptuous woman… and it is drool-inducing to see her begging and pleading for sexual release at the hands of the cool-as-a-cucumber Mona Wales. Maddy’s Rachel is forced to bite down on a pencil and bend over Olivia’s desk for a bare-ass spanking (a la Secretary). After oral and some finger work going in both directions, Rachel is instructed to sit on Olivia’s lap on a desk chair so she can be rubbed and vibed (with that wand) to a cataclysmic orgasm. It’s a scorcher.
Clip 2 featuring Demi Sutra and Lena Anderson
The second clip takes us to Charlie’s response to catching a glimpse of Rachel and Olivia. Olivia had already become a sexual obsession for Charlie, and so she took it hard that Olivia seemed to have designs on other women (despite Olivia not knowing Charlie was interested). To get ‘revenge,’ Charlie finally calls back a girl from college that she hooked up with once, which we find out was Charlie’s only same-sex experimentation prior to her fawning over Olivia. Monique (Demi Sutra) happily meets up with Charlie. The two meet at a coffee shop, but ditch it super fast. At Monique’s place, she quickly offers to give Charlie a massage. It accurately shows a glossed-up version of the kind of date where you know you both want to bone down, but both of you are too ‘civil’ and ‘polite’ to not go through the (possibly very truncated) motions of an actual date first.
The sex is tender and intimate. Monique surely hasn’t forgotten Charlie since their one-off encounter. It shows in every stroke of her hand down Charlie’s long and slender back, and it echoes in every kiss and meaningful glance. It’s a really good clip to watch with someone you care about or someone you’d like to get to know romantically. And it appears that Charlie walks away from this same encounter with a little bit more uncertainty about her fixation with Olivia.
Clip 3 featuring Lena Anderson and Mona Wales
But at long last we get to the main attraction. After some drama and misunderstanding, Charlie gets her woman. Olivia (who Mona Wales imbues with an almost autistic sort of detachment that simultaneously makes her seem in control of every situation and totally beyond reach) first instructs Charlie to get on her knees and eat her out… revealing no underwear underneath her stylish dress. It gave me goosebumps (the good kind) hearing Mona say, “Put your mouth on me, Charlie.” And Lena Anderson’s beautiful, soulful eyes (seriously how can someone be so attractive and good at acting and accepting of her body and sexuality so as to grace us with porn?) look up, searching Mona’s for approval as she begins to taste her bush. The sex, which begins at Olivia’s office, moves to a bed. It differs greatly from Rachel’s encounter with Olivia… even with there being a dominant component to Olivia’s approach. It seems as though this attraction is reciprocal and real and imbued with emotion as well as hunger for one another’s body. As with the Monique and Charlie pairing before it, this clip has a more drawn-out romantic vibe to it, but it plays well as the two pant and taste and touch the other.
It appears, based on the narration, that we have ourselves a ‘happily ever after.’ But when this movie is practically screaming at the top of its lungs for a sequel, we can’t be too sure of that fairytale ending sticking. After all, what’s more erotic than love mixed with conflict?
