While they’ve been around more-or-less since adult content started getting filmed, there was a huge resurgence in the idea of parody films in porn that started back in about 2007, and lasted at full strength for nearly a decade. While the power of the parody market is just a ghost in the wind compared to what it once was, their impact is still felt today. The parody boom of 2007 happened to coincide with the superhero-movie boom in mainstream Hollywood that was spurred on by the popularity of 2008’s The Dark Knight and Iron Man.
With a few exceptions, the term ‘parody’ is used really loosely when it comes to superhero porn. Instead of lampooning or ridiculing super flicks, superhero porn parodies typically revelled in their source material. In many ways, the superhero movies have proven closer in spirit to the infamous ‘Tijuana bibles’ of the first half of the 20th century (porno comic strips that featured fictional characters and pop-culture icons like Superman, Amos & Andy, and Popeye sucking and fucking). Not that that’s a bad thing, mind you. I mean… don’t we all want to see what happens in the downtime at Avengers Tower? With all that spandex, there’s bound to be some super-boners here and there.
So what I did was picked out the ten best superhero porn parodies on HotMovies. And before you say anything, I will say that a very large number of them are from director Axel Braun. He became the go-to name in superhero porn thanks to a stellar understanding of the source material in combination with his award-winning directorial chops. So if you feel like his content (which first started with Vivid and continued with Wicked) is overrepresented, you’d be half right. Braun’s work is, with few exceptions, the gold standard for the genre… and his output was by far the highest in volume. But even in Axel’s oeuvre, not all films are created equal.
Deadpool XXX
Love him or hate him, there’s no denying that Deadpool is a cultural force at this point. The 4th-wall-breaking merc with a mouth had his own hit movie starring Ryan Reynolds, so it was only a matter of time before someone filmed Deadpool getting down-and-dirty. But what was unexpected about it all is that it turned out to be one of the most cleverly written adult films of all-time. Axel took the irreverent spirit of the character and the talking-to-the-audience gimmick from the mainstream film, and paired it up with the pitch-perfect thespian for the role in Seth Gamble. The flick makes several really intelligent jokes along the way: from a segment joking the filming of the movie was handed over to fellow parody director Will Ryder to Deadpool literally shooting at the metaphorical wall between the characters and the audience. Oh, and the movie also has a super fucking hot lesbian scene between the two versions of Domino that’ve been put out there (played by the gorgeous Ana Foxxx and Jennifer White, respectively).
Power Bangers
Superheroes aren’t just limited to the Marvel and DC universes. The super-sentai fighting force known as the Power Rangers absolutely qualify as supes by definition. The Power Rangers are perfect porn bait: cultural phenomenons played by a diverse (and very attractive) group of fit young people wearing colorful costumes. Brazzers pulled the trigger on making our five-colored fantasies a reality. The flick opens with the red ranger balling the pink ranger (granted before they’d received their powers, but who cares). We get Katrina Jade‘s black ranger teaching a body-painted android (Jessa Rhodes) the joys of sex. We get Romi Rain (whose divine body and comedic timing make her the undisputed Queen of the superhero parody) as a scene-chewing Rita Repulsa. And of course, we get the ultimate exercise in teamwork: a uniform-dropping Power Ranger orgy!
Bat Bitch
Not all porn parodies came out in the 2000s and 2010s. Alpha Blue Archives graces us with this gem from all the way back in 1990. On one hand, it does ‘parody’ better than almost every other super movie on this list—casting the incomparable Randy Spears as an investigative reporter/send-up of the film noir stereotype of the narrating detective, and making him talk out loud in a third-person narration (even when he’s supposed to be having a conversation). On the other hand, it is so, so, so loosely based on an actual super character (presumably Bat Girl, and with no other supers to speak of) that I nearly didn’t include it. But the movie is genuinely funny and not just ‘porn funny,’ and it contains the high-cut-panties-and-big-hair funk of early 90s porn as wonderfully as any movie can be expected, providing an excellent change of pace from the aesthetics of modern porn and serving as an erotic time capsule.
Justice League XXX
One of the most interesting things about Axel Braun’s comic films is that he has crafted something of his own ongoing universes throughout his different iterations. Axel’s shocking amount of continuity through the years makes it not inconceivable that some sly DC writer might eventually introduce Axel’s creations as its own Elseworld (that’s a What If? Earth in the Multiverse for you Marvel-heads out there). Axel’s Justice League XXX is the culmination of a really fascinating storyline that involves Superman (Ryan Driller) conscripting Dr. Fate to depower him because the burden of being Earth’s defender was too much in Man Of Steel XXX. Romi Rain (who assumed the mantle of Wonder Woman from the fantastic Kimberly Kane and Alison Tyler) is the real star of the movie, taking on the likes of Green Lantern and Batwoman, before getting banged out by the super trio of Green Lantern (again), Batman, and The Flash. Romi (Queen of the superhero parody) truly is the Amazing Amazon.
Iron Man XXX
For awhile, Axel had some real competition in the super-porn sphere from upstart imprint Extreme Comixxx—with most titles helmed by the infamous Rob Black. The line didn’t last very long, but their movies are fun! The best of the group is, in ole Jeffton’s opinion, Iron Man XXX. The flick stars Seth Gamble as the alcoholic billionaire inventor-cum-superhero, and plucks significant chunks of its plot straight from the MCU. But it also veers drastically off-script in order to give us Madame Masque and her (admittedly very funny looking) domesticated Hulk. The standout scene of the film has to be a threeway between Masque, Justine Hammer, and a goon in a goodwill (badwill) gesture between teaming-up villains.
London Knights – A Heroes And Villains XXX Parody
Even Digital Playground has dabbled in the parody game. They’ve got a few titles of straight-up comic book ‘parodies.’ But then they also have London Knights– a superhero feature film featuring original characters instead of Marvel or DC properties. Sure, the characters are heavily influenced by the folks in tights that came before them… but new figures like Warhead, Reaper, and Swift allow DP to craft their own narrative without the burden of adhering to (or deviating from) decades of pre-existing mythology. The film is played pretty seriously (but with the prerequisite humorous hero-and-villain banter we’ve come to expect) and tracks a super murder mystery in old Londontown. The scene featuring an acrobatic bar bathroom fuck session between Nekane (whose orgasms are literally so explosive as to be deadly) and a Union-Jack-masked Luke Hardy (whose heroic healing powers allow him to take all that Nekane’s Warhead can dish out) steals the show. Not only is the sex spectacular, but the editing job of their phone conversation mid-firefight is brilliant.
Captain Marvel XXX
Captain Marvel is proof positive that there’s plenty more left in the superhero parody tank if the market is there to support them. Kenzie Taylor literally and figuratively fills out the role of Carol Danvers in this epic fuckfest. Kenzie goes interstellar on her mission, finding her way back to her home planet of Earth. Along the way, she makes it with her Kree counterpart, a pair of Skrulls, the divine Aubrey Kate as the Supreme Intelligence (because Kenzie’s perfect woman has big tits and a cock), long-separated friend Monica Rambeaux, and sucks off a young Nick Fury… all before joining Jean Grey in a threeway to convince Deadpool to join forces with them against an oncoming cosmic threat. The movie is a banger through and through, but the chemistry between Kenzie’s Carol and Ana Foxxx‘s Monica in a little wooden shack is the stuff wet dreams are made of (if you don’t believe me, just watch Ana’s prodigious gushes of squirt while still in a skin-tight super suit).
BatFXXX: Dark Night
Bluebird Films made one of the splashiest entries for a production company into the adult world ever. Its signature movie for a long while was this sprawling four hour Batman parody! It is clear that the public face of the company, Paul Chaplin took his company’s big budgets and the influx of superhero flicks in order to profess his love of Heath Ledger’s portrayal of The Joker in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight. In fact, it is pretty safe to say that The Joker is the main character in the movie—despite it being named after their version of Batman. The Joker uses an aphrodisiac laughing gas in order to take over Gothard City (pronounced goth-erd, so the joke is only apparent in writing). Along the way, the likes of Catwoman, Two-Face, and Poison Ivy all get in on the action. Several scenes are grand orgies, but for my money the best scene is Two-Face indulging both sides of his personality by getting together with his dark side and his light in the form of Andy San Dimas (God, I miss Andy San Dimas) and Jamey James. But my favorite individual moment in the movie is in the first clip when Nick Manning, who played Bluebird’s gruff-voiced take on the Caped Crusader, modified his ejaculatory catchphrase to growl, “Droppin’ Bat-Loads!!!”
Spider-Man XXX
I will freely admit that this movie might have made my list with a little help from the fact that I just loved seeing an X-rated version of the Spider-Man mythology. But a good superhero porn is nothing without great casting—which seems to be one of Axel’s super powers. A fresh-faced Xander Corvus makes for a terrific webslinger, the Charlie Sheen-associated Capri Anderson proved a fantastic MJ, and even the nonsex role of J. Jonah Jameson was tackled spectacularly by the aforementioned (also cigar-chomping) Rob Black. As with the other Axel Braun flicks, the plot fits in more with the core Marvel universe than just taking a page from the movies that inspired them, but with this one we have a hilarious riff on the iconic kiss in the Sam Raimi original between a masked Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst that results in the first suspended, upside-down blowjob I’ve ever seen. The best sex, though, I’d say goes to Clip 2—where a psychotic amoral take on Electro (via Dick Delaware, who would probably make a great Colossus) continues his serial killer M.O. of sleeping with prostitutes (like the ultra-hot Tara Lynn Foxx) before killing them with an electrified money shot. The sentences I get to write in porn’s name! Am I right?
Batman XXX
I truly believe that Batman XXX is the grandaddy of all super-porn parodies. The movie draws inspiration from the 1960s Batman television series that starred Adam West and Burt Ward. The campy nature of the inspiration allowed the porn performers to go ham with their portrayals and naturally lends itself to over-the-top sex and dialogue. In a way, the original Batman show was itself a parody of the melodramatic superhero stories found on newsstands all over. Every sex scene in this film is terrific. Every acting performance is spot-on, and Axel rightly padded the similarly star-studded rogue’s gallery from the Batman show with the legends of acting in porn: Evan Stone as Riddler, Randy Spears as Joker, and the one-in-a-million Tori Black as Catwoman. Batman, as played by Dale DaBone, totally nails down Adam West’s trademark awkward monotone performance. Axel got everything right on this one from the script on down to the sets and costumes. It’s an all-time gem.
