Tell me about Ashley Lane.
I grew up outside Baltimore in the suburbs. I was, for the most part, a straight-A student. I played softball and lacrosse. I used to study Architecture. When I was 21, I moved to the West Coast. I moved to San Jose, just upped and moved. I was trying to figure it all out. Then I got introduced to BDSM about a year after moving out there. A few months later, my very first shoot ever was with Kink.com, and that started everything.
That was about seven years ago?
Yes.
When did you lose your virginity?
When I was in high school to my first boyfriend. We lost it to each other.
Once you got the first one out of the way, did you start exploring your sexuality?
I’m trying to think, this was so long ago! Not really… kind of, I don’t remember the exact details.

Were you in school for Architecture before you moved out to San Jose?
I was going to my community college for it. I got into my dream school out of high school, but it was super expensive. My parents didn’t have that money, so they wouldn’t let me go to prevent me from having all that debt. So, I went to community college. I got into schools, but I wasn’t sure if that was what I wanted to do because that’s such a huge commitment—especially with all the student loans. I wasn’t sure. I thought I knew what I wanted to do, but I can literally pinpoint the time. There was this one project for my design class and I lost my creativity for it. I was just like, “What the fuck is happening? What am I going to do now?” I’d wanted to be an architect ever since I was a kid. I even went to a vocational school part-time during high school to learn drafting and AutoCAD. This is what I wanted to do and then all of a sudden, something switched, and I’ve been a lost puppy ever since.
You said you were introduced to BDSM. I know you’re really submissive. Did a boyfriend introduce you to it?
It was a friend who went to the Citadel Dungeon in San Francisco. He told me he played there and thought I would really like it, so he suggested I go. I got to wear lingerie out for the first time and I was so excited. There were naked people and people playing and doing all different types of activities. I thought, “Oh my God! How did that lead you into appearing on film?
That same person, he did later become my boyfriend, but he had an ex-girlfriend who worked at The Armory. So, I applied at Kink and they called me. How did you come up with your stage name?
When I got that interview for Kink, there was a woman there, Mz. Berlin. She interviewed me and asked me what I wanted my name to be. I had no idea and I told her my middle name was Ashley. She said, “OK, Ashley Lane. You can change it later.” And I just never did.
What’s your favorite position?

What was it like having to act and have sex with your Krampus makeup on? Both acting and having sex with the makeup on?
Oh my God! It was insane! I was in the makeup chair for six hours. I had teeth made for me, I had prosthetics on my face, I had four fake boobies and a cap for the horn and black paint. The teeth were so sharp that I cut my mouth on the inside. I gave Tommy a blowjob with those teeth in! It was just so hot having the teeth because it was so dangerous. You had to be really careful. I saw you in another Ricky Greenwood movie about a month ago, Under the Veil, where you were having sex with Dante Colle while Tommy, a priest, was praying over you. That was pretty hot. What sets Ricky apart from other directors you’ve worked with?

I like house music, electronic music, and folk music. I like a little bit of everything. (laughs)
Do you have any favorite movies?
Whenever people ask me this question, the movie that makes me laugh so hard, even though I’ve seen it 100 times, is Grandma’s Boy. And any movie with Leonardo DiCaprio, I love him so much! If I had one night with Leo, I would be so happy! (laughs)
What’s your favorite TV shows?
I really enjoy watching South Park and Family Guy.
What’s your favorite food?
Italian.
What’s the wildest or kinkiest thing you’ve ever done?
