As the child of a member of the Air Force, Melissa Stratton has lived so many places, the question “where are you from?” does not have an easy answer. It’s much easier to determine where she is going, though: porn stardom. The star of The Sex Therapist Vol. 5 and Uncut 14 gives you an uncut look at the real Melissa in the latest HotMovies pornstar interview.
HotMovies: You’ve talked about being a ballet dancer and that lifestyle pretty much being a closed-off or boxed social life. How significant has that change been since getting into the adult industry?
Melissa Stratton: My social life has exploded since being in the adult industry! I’ve never felt so at home in an industry before because i’ve met so many kind, authentic and like-minded people here. I try really hard to maintain those relationships despite how busy we all are. I’ve been know to drop by unexpectedly lol. And speaking of busy, the adult industry is always doing something — there’s a party to go to or an expo to attend and I try to do as much as I possibly can.
On Backstage Pass with Dave Rock, you talked about enjoying being at home and having really good “wifey skills” like cooking. What’s your best homemade dish?
It’s no secret that i’m domestic so I definitely have excellent wifey skills and I do love to cook! I’m a vegetarian so I make some really good meatless dishes like veggie lasagne or mushroom bolognese. But I’m always happy to whip up a real chicken pot pie from scratch for whoever asks!
You’re a self-proclaimed relationship person — you don’t like being single. What are your criteria? What kind of person does it take for you to focus all your wifey abilities on?
That’s very true, I’ve been in a relationship since my parents allowed me to date at 16. I just love having someone close to me to share things with. I’m a bit of an introvert so I’d rather spend my time with one special person than have attention at a party or something. So I guess my criteria for a relationship is someone whose love languages are also the same as mine- quality time and gift giving. I vibe with people that give as much as they get, literally and figuratively! I love to see my partner happy so someone that brings good energy and positivity to the table is a must. Looks-wise i’m really open!
Growing up Mormon, were you always sexually curious or promiscuous or especially active compared to your peers or anything like that, or when did that develop for you?
Growing up Mormon was really tough for me as a teenager trying to explore sexuality. I definitely consider myself a late bloomer- I didn’t even know women could have an orgasm until I was 18! I had a pretty terrible sex education so obviously everything was new to me. I had a boyfriend when I was 18 that was really patient and loving about sex and trying new things so that’s basically where things started for me. He taught me a lot and I wish I could thank him! After we broke up I’ve never really been promiscuous but i’m definitely kinky behind closed doors. If you’re lucky enough to get me in bed I’m a little freaky! And even now when it comes to sex, I think I’m still learning. That’s what makes it fun for me.
You went to school for marketing, became a professional ballet dancer, and now a professional adult performer. You seem to have a naturally strong drive and ability to succeed at the things you decide to do. Where does that come from? Would you say you’re goal oriented or just enjoy doing new things?
When I want to accomplish something I really put my all into it. I’ve been lucky to find things in life that I love to do and that keeps me motivated. I love working hard, I love a challenge so I thrive when things get difficult. Oddly enough I think all the past industries I’ve been a part of have an influence on what I do now. Ballet was about performing and aesthetic, I had to focus on body maintenance and mental health- all skills I use now when I’m on camera. My marketing background is valuable to communicating with my fans through social media in a positive way. Besides that, I’m very goal oriented, which means daily, weekly and monthly goal planning helps me survive. Success makes me happy so I’m always striving for a win, big or small. I share my daily affirmations with my fans and try to spread positivity in their lives because we all need to stay in the right state of mind.
Going off of that, do you see yourself doing other things after you’re done performing? Are there any goals you have outside of the adult industry?
I definitely understand that a career in the Adult Industry can be short lived so I am planning for life in the future. Specifically, I take some of every paycheck and stash it in an investment account. I already have one rental property and I’d like to grow my holdings to set me up for life after the camera. But until then I’d love to be a MILF for as long as I can!
You’ve mentioned Kayley Gunner as one of your favorite girl/girl performers as well as someone you’ve started to hang out with. Are there any other performers you love working with or whom you’ve found yourself bonding with outside of shooting?
It’s really tough because I commute from Chicago to LA to shoot so I’m grateful to my fellow performers that are also long distance friends! I’ll always be grateful to my friends that let me crash with them when I come to LA like Aidra Fox, John Legendary and Mary Moody!
Who is someone you’d like to work with that you haven’t yet?
I’m such a fan of Brazzers and I haven’t shot for them yet! So their legends like Johnny Sins and Cherie Deville are at the top of my list! Maybe one day…
Fantasy sex partner, living or dead?
I have this thing for older men, and specifically retired athletes that become sports announcers. I won’t name names, but there are a few guys on ESPN that I fantasize about getting my hands on…
Netflix and chill or night on the town?
Night on the town for sure! I love to get dressed up and have a great time. I’m not a partier and clubs aren’t my thing but I love eating good food, rooftop bars or live music! So if anybody wants to take me out there are some ideas for ya!
Best or worst place you’ve had sex? Public or otherwise?
Best place i’ve ever had sex felt like it was in a movie. I was on vacation in Cancun and we were in a beach villa with the sun shining on us. Not only was it dreamy but it probably was the best oral sex I’ve ever had too… I keep that memory in my spank bank!
What’s your favorite sex act or position off-screen?
I’m a fan of doing it myself! My fans love my cam shows because they’re solo shows, sometimes they don’t last long if you know what I mean! I love reality TV so I’m all about Love is Blind, Love Island, and The Kardashians. For music I’m really into female artists, I listen to powerful women to pump me up like SZA, Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion.
