The late Henry Kissinger said that power is the ultimate aphrodisiac. Meet the Girl Boss No. 2 does not take place in the heady world of state affairs, but it demonstrates how power, even on a more modest scale, can create an irresistible sexual allure. It’s a movie for anyone who has ever felt a surge of attraction for their boss at work, then suppressed that urge when good sense took over. It’s a movie for anyone who thrills at the confidence and poise that defines a great boss. Really, it’s a movie for anyone, in the end, such is its prurient power.
In scene one, Chloe Temple is called to the home of boss Briana Moon for an after-hours work session. Chloe isn’t quite sure what to expect. Will it be all business or part pleasure? When Briana opens the door with lust in her eyes, the answer is obvious. The sequence makes its intentions clear by jettisoning all sound effects and dialogue during its intro. We’re left solely with Chloe’s narration and mood-setting music. We can focus fully on the instant chemistry between the two as they embrace and back up the stairs toward the bedroom. At this point, the style shifts and a more conventional sound design kicks in. The lighting also moves into a raw, almost documentary-style approach that defined the first edition of the series. Chloe and Briana hammer away at each other with a veiny pink dildo before fading happily into an afterglow of embraces and kisses.
Most of Meet the Girl Boss No. 1 unfolded in hotel rooms, so it’s fitting that scene two returns to this familiar setting with stars Blake Blossom and Slimthick Vic. Loyal worker Blake admits to boss Slimthick that her crush for her is getting out of control. In fact, they nearly got caught in a compromising situation the day before. “Everybody in that meeting could fucking tell,” Blake says. Their hands sweep slowly and deliberately over each other’s bodies as their foreplay expands into moment after moment of great anticipation. Blake pulls aside her silky blue top to reveal a truly stunning bustline. The segment reaches its most intense pitch when Blake and Slimthick are in 69 position with Blake stimulating Slimthick’s pussy while bouncing her ass over Slimthick’s clit. One can’t escape the impression that, on their next work day, they may find themselves in an even more compromising position than the one they discussed at the outset.
The movie’s third sequence makes good use of the contrasting demeanors and body types of stars Cassie Del Isla and Leana Lovings. Leana is sweetly shy and retiring, as befits her role as assistant, whereas Cassie is tall, poised, and confident. Cassie is tremendously pleased with the luxurious hotel room Leana has secured for an important business trip. Intrigued by the efficient young assistant, Cassie contrives for Leana to walk in on her in a state of near total undress. When an embarrassed Leana attempts to retreat, Cassie beckons her forward. “Would you like to have some quality time with me?” she teases. Of all the movie’s hookups, this is probably the most convincing at depicting a fully believable boss/underling dynamic. Leana’s bookish manner belies the intensity of her passions when Cassie unleashes it all in full lesbian lust.
The final sequence changes the formula slightly. Instead of a boss and assistant, it’s boss Serene Siren and hotel clerk Ella Reese. Bored during a work trip at a posh hotel, Serene decides to order a pizza and flirt with the deliveryman when he arrives. She’s in for a surprise, though, when she opens the door to discover the pizza delivered by fetching hotel employee Ella. It’s a blonde-on-blonde extravaganza as Serene forgets her pizza-boy plan and focuses fully on Ella instead. This “deliveryman seduction” scenario is a porn cliché at this point, but Meet the Girl Boss No. 2 freshens it up beautifully with a new spin and superb casting.
Baskin’s bottom line
Meet the Girl Boss No. 2 is a welcome follow-up to the original movie in the series, which also debuted as a HotMovies featured video. It does not radically reinvent the first flick’s formula. Instead, it is content to provide an additional lineup of scenes in the same general vein, right down to the Blacked Raw-style lighting. In this sense, Meet the Girl Boss No. 2 is a “more of the same” sequel, but sometimes, that’s the most effective choice. The theme itself, rooted in the complex sexual politics of power in the workplace, is potent enough to generate a long series full of memorable moments. Two installments in, it’s showing no signs of diminishment.
